Megasquirt: What wire is used for tach signal?

I noticed inside of the underhood fusebox theres a terminal called tach (96 Z24) with nothing in it. Is this an available spot for getting tach signal to shoot to the megasquirt? It just says in the manual to go from the negative terminal of the coil to the MS. Do you just have one coil hooked to it or somehow both? With our setups, do you have to have it set to 2 stroke or 4 to get correct RPM? Number of injections per cycle = 2 right?

If you're only using the Megasquirt for fuel control, you can use the tach signal. Do a search for "tach signal" in the bosst and performance forums to find what you are looking for.

If you are going to be doing ignition as well with the MS, you might not be able to use the tach signal. I haven't figured out yet whether or not you can keep the ICM's output signal hooked up to the ECU or not (the signal the ECU uses to determine rpms and a baseline for timing). If this isn't possible, a tach signal must be generated from the 7X VR crank sensor.
