Jbodyperformance PCM Reflash
Tuesday, September 20, 2005 9:56 AM
Is there anyone here that is using the JBP reflash, I called them yesterday and I was told that I would be able to use the 2-bar MAP sensor. Just want some feedback on it since I'm thinking of getting it.

i talked with them a bit through email and they seemed to be able to handle many of the things i was planning to do with my car. much more than just boost tuning. they seemed very capable! too bad i may not be able to do business with them since the cav is gone.

also i would go get a spare PCM and have it reflashed to your spec at a dealership before sending it to them. i say that only because you wont be abe to drive otherwise till it returns.

Hey Mike,

If you don't mind me askin, where did you get your spare PCM? I'm tryin to do the same with JBP, it was too expensive getting the extra PCM from them.

This question has been asked over and over and over.

Nobody anywhere ever replies that has actually had their PCM reflashed by JBP.

Interesting complex we have here....so are the ones that have the reflash so happy with the results that they said screw the JBO and are out driving their cars 24/7? Or is it that they are so upset with it that they have ended themselves completely....

man I'm bored.

wretched case of bad marketting..

IF this actually worked as well as the GM flash for 00+ cars they would instantly sell 50+ of these. BUT.. no one knows they work because they never stated any examples or happy customers or anything.

I spoke with Mev from Jbodyperformance on the the phone at length yesterday, and got the low-down as to what he can do with the PCM and what he can't do.

Delete the EGR? Yes. Raise the limiters? Yes. Change just about anything? Yes.

Hope that answers your questions. For the money it's actually not a bad deal at all for what can be tuned and how he tunes it.

That is well and good but talk is cheap. We want to here from someone that actually had their computer reflashed. I remember when JBP first announced they were going to do this, someone had theirs done. No word from that person

Clearly if I have phoned Mev and I have given you info, I am more than likely considering going ahead with this option. I know mev, and he's a good guy not a rip-off artist... the first thing I'm going to do when I get the car back is rev it to 7200 rpm's to ensure there is indeed a reflash in the car.

With that all said, the computer will be reflashed to my specs on the dyno and the car will be fully tuned. He CANNOT make the PCM read boost - he has the ability but he hasn't done it yet and currently doesn't have the time to sit down and make it happen, so he was upfront with me and told me the best he could do was dynotune the car for me to the power levels I wanted and improve the fuel and timing maps as well as bump all the limiters and basically make the car run as well as possible without a standalone.

He is also going to make the car idle 550cc injectors no problem.

I will be talking with him in person next week, this isn't a "cheap" alternative but definitely cheaper than a standalone.

when i had my car and was gonna do the HO swap we had an email dialog about stuff and realized while staying n/a he could set me up on the 97 ecu and harness. was gonna be a good swap..

like i said, i have faith he can do what he says but never got the chance to test it.. and havent heard from anyone about it.

if he can raise the redline for cheap.. and put a good n/a map setup... this combined with a good eic and msd box for timing, that wouldnt be a bad setup at all..

Chris,

It is good that you have established a dialog and that you feel comfortable with JBP. What I am looking forward to is your ( or anyone elses ) report back after having the ECU reflash that it indeed works.

Like Jrob said, I am just looking for the rev limit increased and a good N/A map
