Leave closed loop on and create a custom pid that adds the ltft and the stft then create histos that do the idel, coast down and low rpm ve with that pid and filter out commanded afr below 14:1. Then make histos for low and high rpm with wide band. And disable dfco.

wow that will take a few minutes to digest and figure out lol.. did some sheet metal work under the hood today and will mod the inj. constant tomorrow and reflash to see how it runs and idles.

will let you know when theres progress.

thanks

Ok I did the following and have a few questions.

1. I modified my injector constant to 0.26700.

2. Set the pe enrich to 1,000 rpm

3. I set all the spark tables -2deg. in the 100kpa columns and -4degrees in the 105kpa columns. These pertained to the high and lo octane and main spark columns.

4. put the ve offset to 99%

questions

1. when I set the wideband up in the scanner via a/c pressure sig, do i have to do it on the saved scan for the vehicle or just in general?

2. how do i disable dfco?

3. what do i do in the pe tps vs. rpm table?

4. you said subtract 99 in the idle and coast down, do i subtract 99 in every column??? seems to be a lot of values just wondering.

5. what do you mean by add a s%%t ton to the 100 percent throttle row& other rows? where is this located?

getting there just making sure all of what i don't understand is explained

thanks
jason

1 you save it into you config that you're making. The pid will be there for all other configs though

2 set the enable and disable speeds to like 200 mph

3 put it really low all the way across, I suggest 20 for now, until you can tune that table to be values that the car actually builds boost. You'll want to do that on the first run out because your gas mileage will be out the window on the highway with the whole table at 20

4 yeah, once you increase the ve offset all of the values in all the tables are going to go up. But I mispoke when I said 99 I should have said the difference between the current ve offset and 99 I believe the stock ve offset is 15.

5 ignore that step because increasing the ve offset does that.

Ok have you ever got a timed out message when trying to write to the vcm? trying to overcome that to get the correct inj. constant back in there.

Also are you sure its 36 / 24 x 0.17800?

i think its the other way around because when it did start it was bogging and smelled like fuel and wideband was ----- making me think it was getting too much fuel.

36 / 24 x 0.17800 equals 0.26700

and 24 / 36 equals 0.1 something

means we have double the fuel in there than needs to be?

the car after I put the inj. constant of what you told me the car was bogging to the point of trying to stall itself.

let me know what you think, searched cobalt ss ijnector thread and came up with the 24/ 36 x 0.17800 all day long so just wondering if what we dicussed was correct thats all.

thanks
jason

Hmm, weird. It must be right, no idea why my math is messed up. You might be getting the timed out message is you arent waiting for the dinging to stop after your turn the key on.

will let you know soon!

UPDATE

Leafy

I was able to do a write calibration to the car with the correct injector constant as seen below and it idles like it did before!!!! cool step one is done!! This is my last post because I paid for premium and it hasn't activated yet. for the next day or so I will look over the info you have posted on here and try to familiarize myself with where that stuff is.

So when I set up the wideband via a/c sig , I only have to do that once in the scanner right then everytime that i use it it will use the wideband???

Also on a side note when would you use the write entire? when transferring the contents of one vcm to another?? most of the time it sounds like I will be using the write calibration only huh??

thanks for all the help thus far will reply back once my membership goes thru!

thanks again

Worked

I will look over the info and maybe have some time to add to the file tomorrow as I think its supposed to rain all week.

Thanks again

Yeah write entires are for when you change the whole pcm, or change the vin number, those kind of things.

ok cool. I am at work looking over those other things to do, with the other computer here, would you reccomend changing all that stuff at once and saving the file or only doing a couple things per file so I can go back and change or have " startover points"? On the wideband do I have to only do the custom pid 1 time in general in the scanner? to set it up I mean.

thanks
jason

Re: setting up wideband via a/c sig

Ok so I have a few questions.

1. so for the ve offset you said stock was 15 ish? so subtract the 99 so I put a 84 in ve offset. correct?

2. the pe enable TPS vs. RPM table what do I put ?

3. when subtracting 99 from idle and coastdown do I still use the 99 figure? or the 84 figure ?

4. What tables am I sutracting those values from? low rpm and high rpm? I got keep the double and single same.

I have to make the custom pid that adds ltft and stft , I know I have to do that in the scanner but I am confused as to how exactly to do that.

you said disable dfco and set to 200mph but the tables are in rpm? sound right?

thanks
jason

Re: setting up wideband via a/c sig

1 verify that your stock one was 15

2 I would put all 15 and then make a histogram using that table with a filter of map >100 & map < 105 and log tps. That will give you the tps in each spot when you hit boost, well at least an average.

3 use the 84 or whatever figure

4 subtract them from the low rpm tables but onle the two lowest tps rows.

You make that custom pid the same way you would make the wideband through the a/c pid

on the fuel -> fuel cut you'll just see some cells that are under the heading dfco, there should be rpm, map, and speed.

so question on number 4.

so i go under low rpm double and high rpm double and subtract the 79 figure from the 600 and 800 rpm column and make sure those 2 tables are the same?

on low rpm coastdown you are saying subtract 79 from the lowest 2 rpm columns all the way down also?

for the dfco i found it so i put 200mph in the enable vss and diable vss column?

thanks

No not the rpm columns, the tps rows.

Ok, for tps not rpm you are talking about fuel cutoff? so What i said about the coastdown under main ve is right? Subtract the figure of 79 from the lowest 2 rpm values or are you telling me to alter the tps value in those tables?

Would it be easier if i email you the file and you make the changes?? just wonderin.

Ok so I subtract the 79 from all those values to get the figures that go in tose boxes right??

In short form I do that in the coastdown and low rpm and high rpm doubles, just those columns in all right??
thanks

just those ROWS of the low rpm. and from the ENTIRE idle and coast down tables.
