Ok much after that?? or just doing driving to hit all the cells?

Basically driving and hitting cells. I'd tune idle first.

No i was saying after I set all that up that is pretty much good to start driving and smoothing things out right? I will start with idle. What guages should I have up in the scanner?

stft+ltft
wideband
afr error
knock
whatelse?

Just a question

If the car idles perfect with the new injector constant plugged into the vcm how come I have to tune idle?

Re: setting up wideband via a/c sig
Thursday, April 28, 2011 3:34 PM
so i was adjusting idle and subtracting values and when I got half way through all the values I changed somehow switched all to 79????

Re: setting up wideband via a/c sig

Tried it in the top 2 in high rpm double and after I alter 2 it changes everything to 79 that i switched

Re: setting up wideband via a/c sig

That's why you saved the stock file. You were trying to get back to stock values. And it won't idle perfect.

Ok, so why when i am changing the values when i get to a certain point and all of a sudden it changes all values i have modded to 79?

i hooked up the aem to the a/c sig, but when i start the car there is no needle in the guage, i have the red/blk sig wire from the pressure sensor t-tapped and when i log i just unlug the pressure sensor, does it still have to be plugged into the press sensor and just the sig wire connected to the aem?

hope that makes sense.

because you are doing it one cell at a time and hit enter or because you are doing it with the add box and you accidentally didnt have anything selected.

You should only have 1 wire from the wide band connected to 1 wire on the pressure sensor and it CANNOT be connected to the a/c sensor at the same time.

you really need to read the instructions of hp tuners, like read the help file. if you want to put a value into cells or add a value highlight the cells, put the value in the box in the upper right and either press the =, +, or x.

it is it says its a unsupported pid? that doesn't make sense because tons of people are doing this on the org with the aem.

Did you add it to the table?

no can u explain how to do that?

sorry!

Re: setting up wideband via a/c sig

Ok so I figured out the wideband and adding it to the table and I also set a afr error up in the guages.

1. I am working on adding a LTFT+STFT but what should I label it as?

2. when I said I was going to go into coastdown and idle tables and low rpm double and single fire and pe ho and pe lo and subtract 79, I should have said reduce the figures to 79 which will be my new ve offset right? the values will only let them go that low.

Other than that I think I have the rest down. Will start out tuning idle.

Leafy?

1 It doesnt matter but I'd call it something logical like fuel trim.

2 not reduce to 79 reduce by 79, you want to get the stock value back in that table if possible.

OK

I read the help files.

but the tables will only let me reduce that values down to 79. so on a box that has a 123 so that would have to be a value of 44. and if i hit the box I wanna change in any of the boxes or any table in ve we are trying to modify it stops at 79, if i manually try to put in 44 the minute i switch to another box it puts 79 behind me.

Make sense???

Stock value back in the table? If thats the case why wouldn't I just leave all the tables at the current " stock " values? I am really confused here and have entirely read over the help files.

Help please....

Its real damn hard to do this this way. That should be mostly fine for now. It'll be getting fixed.if you cant lean that idle out enough then don't worry. Once you tune high rpm full throttle you will be able to drop that offset value and get lower values in those tables.

Ok so in the idle , coastdown and low rpm single and double tables that you told me to change put all those values that you said to change to 79? 79 just seems so far off from 44. Just so we are clear I cannot go below in ANY of the tables listed below.
