hp tuners problem
Sunday, April 24, 2011 3:33 PM
Did a write entire and put my injector constant in , started the car and it was trying to idle at like 1k and was bouncing from 1k to 1200 back and forth, figured something was wrong so i killed it and tried to reflash the stock file under write entire and it gets to erasing vcm calib. and says mode 2 erase timed out.

any ideas??

thanks

If you are only flashing for the injector constant you should have just did a write calibration only. As far as the idle bouncing after you flashed the car did you turn the car off then start it? It helps the IAC relearn, well for my car it does atleast.

Every time we loaded a new tune onto my ECU it had to relearn the idle.

Just starting and driving the car takes care of it. It is nothing to be worried about, but it does get alittle annoying.

As for the timing out. That happened to Oldskool and i when we were tuning my car and he just kept trying until it worked. Apparently it is a HPT quirk.

I've only ever timed out if I didnt wait for the seat belt dinging to stop. And for the love of god stop doing a write entire, a 2:30 write calibration is too damn long as it is. And I dont believe doing a write entire is good for the life of the pcm.

Leafy are you suggestion a write entire takes longer than 2:12?

It should considering a write calibration does sometimes and a write calibration is transferring significantly less data.
