port and polish head, bigger valves, bigger cam that works better up top. A bigger throttle body to support those mods.

cost more for less gain that a turbo.

mine's automatic. it's preference.

Automatics are better for loading the turbo up, therefore decreasing spool time. Also, if you get a shift kit, it will shift faster than 99% of people with manuals. So from a performance standpoint they will win almost every time (at least drag racing).

With that being said I have a manual, because in my opinion they are more fun to drive.

I agree with above, in most cases with a turbo your getting to the point that there is enough torque involved to eliminate the drive train loss experienced in stock/lower power situations. The 5spd is still geared a bit better and 3rd/Drive in the auto will hurt you in the quarter mile. However no person with a manual tranny can shift as fast or consistently and efficiently as a hard shifting auto.
