Calibration ID Question
Friday, March 30, 2012 10:25 AM
I was wondering is anybody had seen or knew anything about this calibration ID # S411RJ01
That is the calibration that is on my current PCM that has been experiencing issues.

A VIN search gives me these result for calibrations on the PCM (VIN# 1G1JH52F437191910)
Part number CAL ID CVN Desciption
12593517 12593525 N/A New calibration reduces the potential for engine stall. Includes change to avoid transmission damage during brake torque events.
12583742 12583755 N/A New calibration with diagnostic enhancements for DTC P0463
12579654 12579665 N/A New calibration to improve generic scan tool operation
12571650 12571657 N/A Control module calibration

A replacement PCM that I ordered solved my current issues, but created issue with fueling at boost. It was calibrated with the most recent one (12593517).
A second unit was sent and it also exprerienced the same issues.
I want to get a new PCM, but I am fearful that I may have problems again with that calibration.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

dude make one thread about your car and keep it ALL in there. you have like 23423 threads going about the same damn issues, and its hard to keep straight.

Calm down dude. I am not going to lie, I may have a few too many post, but I honestly think this was different and required its own thread.

Is this a crapflash, or is it actually tuned?

Supposely crap flashed at my local dealer.

I was wondering about it cause a guy who was making a spare GM flashed PCM for me said that Calibration ID number is like nothing he's ever seen on these cars.

And before anybody says get a tune. I'm already talking to Vince at Trifecta.
This is just for my own knowledge and understanding as to why the PCMs the other guy sent me didn't work even though they were calibrated correctly and the dealer said they should of worked.

Don't scare me. Why do you say that? I thought he was doing good.

vicne never does good, and quits when there is the FIRST sign of problems with a tune. all my cobalt buddies, l61,lsj, and LNF alike are switching to HP tunes slowly but surely. Vince is not a good tuner.
