z yaaaa wrote:welp i got the 2-3 shift to 6500 perfectly. set the MPH shift speed to 70 from 80 and it did the trick. unfortunately my tweak from 50 to 52mph on the 1-2 shift resulted in it not working properly. it wraps way out to at least 7000, i didnt want to go any further than that so i let out of it.

i dont understand how one shift MPH speed shift change (2-3) could work properly with such a huge difference and the other didnt even come close with only a mere 2mph change. both RPM tables are at 6500 so it doesnt make any sense. i changed it back to 50mph (1-2 shift) and it shifts at 6200.

any ideas?

Hmm. just to play what about changing the VSS settings back to stock and see what happens with the MPH at 52. Also could try lowering the RPM down 500RPM with the 52 MPH setting.

ok did that, car bounced the rev limiter like it did before with the trac. control settings at stock.

car shifted at 5000 rpm, way below where i want.

I'm just trying to understand here. YOu changed the VSS back to stock settings. It then hit a limiter?, but then shifted at 5000RPM's? I wish I had a auto to play with right now.

shoulda made myself clearer..

yep, VSS changed back to stock and it bounced a limiter when i had the settings the same as i had before...

then i changed everything back to the way it was and tried the 5000 shift you said to do and it shifted at 5000.

doesnt matter anymore anyways, i changed the 1-2 shift MPH back to 50 and had to give back the HPT

oh well, i got what i wanted out of it. the damn thing to shift at WOT. works damn good, if only the 1-2 shift would hold out 300 rpm more..

Sorry when I said 5000RPM, I meant to say 500RPM less than you had it set at (which I think was 6500 and it was shifting at 7000??).

ok guys so get this one...

traction control still works the same exact way it always did. when you punch it from a dead stop the 'trac on' light on the dash lights up and the car bogs down a tad. even though the settings for it are maxed out...

anybody know wtf is up with that?

Can you post up exactly what you have everything set at (in the traction control section).

Ditto. I've been struggling with this same issue since I started using HPT on this build. Its been driving me crazy. I thought I already had the VSS maxed out, but maybe not?

Which trans do you have? I have files I worked on. I thought it shifted good.

Brad has a 4T40E. All seems good. His tune is wrong. I can email it to you if he likes.

Matt did you fix yours? Mine it working great, and I just want to tweak a few more settings.

Well I got it to initiate shift when I wanted, but it still does its issue. I think I may have narrowed it down though. I should know in the next few days. I need to replace my turbo manifold gasket first, then reflash my changes. Exhaust is leaking pretty good by cly 4 and you can see the gasket is starting to blow out a bit by cyl 1.

Alright, I finally figured out my "bouncing off the rev limiter" when I really wasn't during shifts. The tune was set to pull anywhere from 4-10 degrees timing during shifts. Set it all to 0 and now its perfect... well kind of. Only issue was expected and that's the tranny starting to slip.

Does it slip if you increase the line pressure through HPTuners or with the shift plus?

Yeah. Shift plus has been taken off for a little while now. I have HPT set to have pressure at 90 at any TQ level above 280 or so. My logs during runs show trans line pressure is up to 35% which was always the max it showed when I had the shift plus on it. Also shows trans load at 100% as soon as the boost starts to come on. Shift set speed is at 0.05 seconds I believe for all gears at anything above 280tq.

You know what your trans temp is? Mine will slip if it above 220F.

160-190 at track. Measured at port on front of tranny. Tranny had a cooler as well.

Yeah mine is normally 160-180 with normal driving. I'm on my stock cooler.
