sorry, am I wrong?
I submitted it anyway, and you should too.
perhaps it will spark interest for them to look into it.
I was trying to load up the ny jbodies site on the history of the 2.2, but their site seems to be down.

96 ECU is not chippable either. Yes from what SpeeRacer says the pin hook up is different. I submitted my 96, and my 2001. From the Article in Chevy high performance, it states for 96 + ODBII ECU's., also states can be used on many cars, not just one.

96 should be OBDII. Sorry, but if I had a 96 I would be going back to an 95 obd-1 setup and chip it. I know it is legal in PA to do it

these configs would be "safe" and logical to do :
97-99 2.4 (maybe even just make it for 99)
00-02 2.4
03-05 Eco (not sure on 02 Eco)
00-02 OHV
what im not sure on is the 97-99 OHV since it is 2 different motors technically and i dont know all the changes. so maybe that as well.

This sounds good
come on we need everybody on board...email him at chris@hptuners.com for those who are too lazy to hit the back button..lol
This just gives me a reason to buy a laptop...lol
my friend had his 97 pcm reflashed using the 99 vin # with no problems
and what i meant about the 96 is they used a very similar to the 95 computer , and i could sware the 96 pcm ive got has a door to remove a chip also

not only that, but when GM was building their race car, they said a well tuned stock ecotec puts out 180 hp, now THAT is something I'm looking forward to, 200 hp with bolt-ons and tuning.
"It turns out a well-tuned stock 10:1 2.2-liter Ecotec in the above configuration
actually develops 168 crankshaft hp (which is above the factory rating of 140-150 as installed in various
vehicles in the United States and Europe)."
funny I was sure it was 180. oh well, 168 hp stock isn't anything to sneeze at !
15.891 @ 88 mph stock, still getting @!#$ty launches...
glad to see the 2200 gets more than 1 vote... email sent

Considered it, but I do not think I want that route.
