One would think if the company actually does re-calibrate it from settings other then stock , that they would gladly donate one to compare with JUST TO PROVE , that they are better then RSMs.
It would boost there reputation ... and there sales.
But who knows?
well...... now that HPT is out........ they just might be able to reflash ECM's......

bah, some companies just don't care about forums and prefer to base their reputation on their customers satisfaction only... it might not be the best thing for them but to each their own...
it's easy to say that since they don't respond they must be screwing us but the fact is they don't HAVE to answer at all... so someone just get your ECM reflashed by them and then post the results...

Actually at this point, with HPtuners being on the market and available for anyone to use, I'd be more interested in seeing an ECM that was bought from them in the past.
Given the circumstances, I believe that very fair questions are being asked. I'm trying to give JBP the benefit of the doubt here, but not posting here because they "don't have an account" is stretching any measure of credibility pretty thin. It takes 30 seconds to sign up for an account, and giving direct answers to these questions would be the easiest way to avoid any controversy.
Like I said before...in the end I hope it all works out positively, but one way or another these questions have to be answered.

Frankly, taking this from the perspective of someone on the outside looking in, I wouldn't waste my time getting involved in this argument if I was JBP.... even despite the fact that there are suspicions. In the end I think that since JBP was pretty much a "you have to come here to get the reflash done on the dyno" type deal, that its a lot less likely they' were faking it.
And Jimmy, just because GM could not reflash the computers means nothing. The techs at the dealer can only load a file thats already written and available, they cannot tune the parameters of the ecu itself, and I'm sure none of the techs at any GM dealership would want to. My experience from working in dealer service departments is that 95% of tech do not want to be inconvenienced with any type of vehicle modification, much less perform further mods. If GM didn't have a reflash it is because they did not want to spend the money to do the R+D involved with it.
Any ecu is crackable. I'm not saying that i'm 100% certain that JBP's reflash isn't BS, but as a comparison, VW still does not have ANY type of performance reflash, yet they are available in DROVES from the aftermarket. So, just because the VW dealer can't do it, does that make it unlikely that an aftermarket company could do it? Granted, with little to no previous support or research done, it would be DIFFICULT to rewrite a cavalier ecu, but not impossible, which would explain the prohibitive cost of JBP's reflash.
Its pointless to even argue because in the 2 years i've been on this forum I still haven't seen anyone purporting to have been reflashed by JBP, so I highly doubt anyone who may have been is going to pop up any time soon.

I don't think JBP has anything to prove.... even if they did send someone an ECU and it was proven that they did make changes, you would all find something else to nitpick about later on down the road.
I am not trying to defend them here, there are only a scarce few J-body companies that aren't horrendous rip-offs (Carcustoms, Aplus, ect..) because all of the honest ones have already been pushed away by this crap and all of the slight rip-off companies are provoked into ripping your asses off more by the way you recieve them.

I will say some of you are correct JBP does not have to prove anything to any of us. Also coming on here and creating a acount and posting would probably be a issue as well. They could answer some basic question in email to solve this (in regards to the reflash). They could give a brief breakdown of how they do it. If it is logical and makes sense I think most of us will be ok with that. For a company that only supports J-Body's not backing this up could really hurt them (because of the way the ORG is). Not saying they only support J-Body's (because I do not know if they do or not). Also for us to ask these questions is not uncalled for. Company's like SuperChips has claimed to be able to reflash our ECU's before, but when it came down to it they could not. Because of the problems and time it has taken for company's to break into a J computer it only makes sense to question how did they do it, and no one else could. What makes them soo special. Answer that question (how were they able to) and this will be solved. yes of course people will later complain about there oil pump, but that has been going on and will not stop, just like this will not stop, but if they put up people will know.
FU Tuning
Speaking of the oil pump... i have taken a few pix of the 2.4 and 2.3 oil pumps with micrometers measuring each of the internals of the pumps and to get the 2.4 to have the surface area and sheer size of the 2.3 pump in order to create the same pressure and volume would take nothing short of redesigning the whole pump not just boring it out or using spacers to up the pressure. watch for a new topic in the performace section within the week regarding this with pictures.

Nobody hunted down RSM and asked them to proove themselves, Matt checked out his ECU with HP tuners. If someone wants to do the same thing, go for it but don't harass them like they have to proove themselves to you. They are getting put down without any actual information to back it up. If someone tests, cool... posts the results and discuss... anything prior is baseless and a waste of bandwidth, giving the JBO community a bad name. Again I will say it, they don't have to prove anything to anybody. JBP and RSM are not the same company.
And no I am not a spokesman/JBP pet, I have never and will never buy anything from them.

Your argument is moot....... any company that says to offer a product should be required to prove that their product is legit. What makes JBP any different then RSM or any company that offers ECM reflashes for any vehicle? Those other companies all have to prove that what they offer is legit....... Companies like Hondata, HPTuners, DSMLink...... they all submit their products to be evaluated by their respected market.
WE are JBP's market,
WE were RSM's market for the most part (they catered to more then just J's)....... if JBP wants to sell products to us, they should be required to provide examples of their work.
If I remember correctly, RSM's ECM editor was a guy named
Adam, who I believe Nelson told me didnt actually work @ RSM...... JBP

*edit* my examples of other 'companies' included aftermarket ECM's as well as ECM editing programs...... I should have included more companies that actually sell 'tuned' or 'edited' ECM's.......
