Well i sent in my vote for my 99 2200.

I think the Ecotec all years will be supported no doubt.
Then probably the 98-01 2.4
and then the 98+ 2200 i think will have some love, since most of the cavys and fires on the road have the 2200 or 2.2 in them.

and what i meant about the 96 is they used a very similar to the 95 computer , and i could sware the 96 pcm ive got has a door to remove a chip also

On the 96, it says its for the Knock module or some crap..... I do know a 96 wont run w/o it...... but Its been along time since I messed with a 96 computer. (idiot mechanics didnt know this when I was at the dealership, they installed a new pcm in a 96, and couldnt get it to start. I asked if they swaped the chip out, and they told me I was stupid, that they dont have chips in 96........ 10 mins later, they opened the o/g computer, pulled the chip, and droped the new one down, and installed it....... started right up..... then died because of the theft lock. )

GO 2.4's....

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the 2.2L and the 2.4L identical when it comes to the PCM's?

For the years that hptuners is talking about, yes. There are 2 different pcm's listed:

1997 - 1999 all cars used PCM# 16228016
2000 - 2003 all cars used PCM# 9356249

Its getting closer...

Maybe I'll tune my 2002 cav instead on my 93, even though the 93 blows away the 3rd gens..

I have the 2002 and there is nothing different between the 2002's and 03's.
I would send in the VIN number but through all of mine motor swaps I have to try and find it, my chassis VIN is still a OHV AUTO. lol

I just find the VIN and get it reprogramed so can someone PLEASE put down MORE Ecos!!!

Is this HPTuners something that you could seriously mess your car up with?

Sounds interesting, getting more HP from tuning - are there disadvantages?
