Hey Robo will you be willing to do a group purchase when it's out. On this link it is said that we can have a 30% or more discount for 3 package or more...

http://www.hptuners.com/order.php

Could be even more interesting!

That's only if one person buys support for say a j-body, f-body, and say a GTO. Not for 3 ppl all buying J-body software. <br>

If this software were to actually come out, I'd love to use it. However, it would have to be fairly soon. When the car comes out of storage in March or so, I'll want to drive it.

Ron, I may have an ECU for you. 2k 5-speed. Email me. <br>

Carquest stores in this area are supposed to start "selling" ecu reflash software for stock applications. Pricing is supposed to be around $30 / reflash. I'm going to the introductory seminar when (and if) it happens.

lol yeah, computer was 2265 and change after taxes, but also talking CDN here too, still after the switcheroo of currencies, still looking at like 2 grand. I built it loaded, total power house, and at the time i got it, there was only 2 processors out there faster then mine, i had the fastest video card avail, (i think there are 3 models higher now) but it was built and designed to do high end gaming and video/sound editing/production.

keep in mind that 2265 is the total price, that's including windows xp media center (2003) and a couple other software applications too.

but anyways, i understand now what you mean with this software, i'd have to save up, but after i do a couple modifications to my car, i def would be interested in this software, and maybe someone who knows what they are doing...

anywho, thanks again for the info.. ttyl

Just a word to the nay-sayers:

Saying that this product will never be released is rather like saying the the sun will never explode and kill us.
It could happen tomorrow, or not for a million billion years, as far as we know.

The one thing I do know is that if HPT can't get the job done, someone else will, guaranteed. Just look at the publicity that CAVALIERS are getting, in their various configurations, in the NHRA. It's like all you see from Chev are cavaliers on the strip. Also, I have seen a tremendous shift away from imports here in Ontario, as far as young ambitious tuners go. Going, going, gone are the days of the fart-can-rice-boxes.

The facts take a while to set in. It's true that our power-trains are kickass, making roughly 1hp per cube in the 2.4, from the factory, on 87oct. 1hp per cube is the point at which you can start to say you have a performance engine IMHO. The trouble with Cavaliers is their reputation (as 4 doors) for being plastic econo boxes, has stuck to the whole marque. But I digress.
My point is that the tuner market is growing exponentially as our (20 something) generation matures enough to have disposable income for this hobby, and the cavalier is (out of the box) the cheapest, most durable and highest performance platform for the $$. Something really cool to consider too: the ECO is being shoved into MANY new GM (Cobalt) and GM owned vehicles (like Saab), with no end to the program in sight. Can you say enduring market?
Further, you can see the potential of the latest gen power plant any race day that Nelson Hoyos kicks another ass setting a record at the track.

Keep the dream alive! We deserve this hardware.

Don't flame, play the game. <br>

For what its worth, I saw a first hand display of HPT's software in action last night, altho, it was for my friends GTP and the amount of stuff you can do is incredible. He showed me one part that peaked my interest in relation to your cams Phil.

You can disable any DTC you want. So in your case Phil, with your huge cams throwing codes, you can disable the multiple misfire code, you can also adjust it so that it will only throw a code if the ECU detect a multiple misfire fire once, twice or three times or no code at all.
He has a monster cam in his car, he also changed his idle speed because the lope was so huge it had troble idling, his sounds like a drag car and ran a 12.89 with a 75 shot & a very mild cam.
It modifies fuel, shift points, A/F ratio's, TPS and more and again, you can disable any DTC you want and modify all kinds of parameters. You can even save those parameters on you laptop, run different ones at the track, street or what ever. You can also lock the setup in your ECU so the dealer can't alter it, I guess that would really make the dealer say "WTF" ?
Anyway, I think this software is the answer to guys with the Level Zero cams and Phil who are throwing all kinds of codes but the burning question is obviousley WHEN?

You guys might also want to contact tunercat.com , a guy from the S-10forum with a 2200 s-10 contacted them and they said all they need is a GM 2200 PCM and they would start working on it. I would love to see this come out ASAP, for boost purposes.

would that tunercat guy do something with the Ecotecs also?

Since you brought it up...

"That tunercat guy" has been offering low cost tuning software for a long time. His OBDII package will beat the cost of HPTuners' stuff by thousands of $$ if you plan to do multiple vehicles. It's been a long time coming, and it's amazing that he sells it for as little as he does. But working out the nitty and gritty for each calibration, each vehicle platform can take many, many hours. Don't be surprised if he says he'll work on it and nothing appears to happen for a long time. I don't know if he even has help at his place.

Very interesting - especially since tunercat is for OBDI ONLY!

There's a post going over there at hp tuners. Might not be a bad idea to sign up and pop a post on there. A little pressure might help things move faster.

If that were to become the biggest thread there they might get the hint that people really are ready to buy now!
