Very interesting - especially since tunercat is for OBDI ONLY

This is incorrect.

Tunercat has an OBDII package.

Cable, tuning software, and one definition file for $379.
Additional definition files for $79 each.

Will not program 96-97 LT1 "bastard" ecm.

Check my story out. You might be surprised at what you discover.

Thanks man, I don't think it will take tunercat any longer than HP tuners. If they aren't willing to produce it in a timely manner people will flock to them. Basically it is who ever comes out the J-body crowds will flock to, supply and demand.

If you guys want we can go to HP tuners and make a huge post in their Forum and whore that for a few months.

Hi guys,

It has been shuffled down the list at the moment but we are still working on it, unfortunately GM released the LS2 with a totally new PCM and also a seperate TCM for the trans. When it came time to prioritize things, LS2 was chosen ahead of 4cyl.

As a technical update we have successfully been able to read and write a PCM, but haven't had the time to add the stuff in between.

Chris...

we're just gonna keep getting shuffled down the line as long as something new comes out.

It sucks that we got bumped for something that is right smack dab in the middle of their target market and all, but what do you think you're going to gain by making a big fuss on their forums? Do you think you're going to bully them into finishing the 4cyl program faster if you bitch at them? You're only going to succeed in pushing another potential vendor away from our market, and we'll be farther from where we want to be than when we started. If it's taking too long, build it yourself! It's too bad that the immature minority is the most vocal on this forum. Act like grownups and you'll be treated like grownups with disposable income. [/rant]

AEM is supposed to come out with a universal EMS, but I do not have any details as of yet...

AEM universal is out. Although only certain dealers are being allowed to sell it. It has something to do w tech support, AEM won't suppport it to the public, it will be the job of the retailer to do that.

Hey maybe we should not complain. My other car 97 z28 camaro. Hp has not developed anything for the 96 97 lt1 as of yet. I was curious as to see if I could get something for the camaro while I was at their site. That is a long wait lets see nine years. Now develop an ls2 wtf?!!! So I can probly guesstimate that the software for the four cylinder is about 2-3 years off. I will check this thread in 2007 to check progress.
Hopefully another company will realize the monopoly situation here and develop something.

Feel much better now

So what's the deal? Any new info? I really want this. Hell, you can probably coax about 10 extra WHP on a stock motor just tweaking the fuel map. The stock fuel map is all over the place! Let's go, get something done HP TUNERS!
