Okay to clarify. The HP tuner program sounds very good. There is plenty of information on here about it. My question is has anyone ever used the laptop dyno or pda dyno package on their vehicle. How do they compare to HP tuner? Are they simple to use? Are they more like a GTech Pro SS/RR? Pros and Cons of the package? Would you recommend them for monitoring engine functions without altering programming. DO they monitor accurately?

HP Tuner and Laptop/PDA dyno is like comparing apples to lug nuts, they don't do anything remotely close to each other.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!

a laptop or pda dyno--
is a scan tool,
calculates hp and performance #s by using programmed calculations from scanned data and user inputs (i.e. vehicle weight),
It cannot retune or make any adjustments at all to the vehicle.

A dash mounted performance meter--
monitors no engine functions directly,
has sensor (accelerometers) that measure how hard the device is changing speed,
calculates performance data from G- force measurements and user inputs,
cannot retune or make any adjustments at all to the vehicle.

HP tuners--
reprograms the vehicle computer,
can be used as a scan tool,
has no functions for measuring performance data.
