Used HPT to look at my max boost..and....
Friday, August 04, 2006 8:57 AM
I used the hpt scanner graphs to look at my max kpa of map sensor and the result were:

1st- hit 156kpa converts to 23.4psi-atomshperic (14.5)=8.9psi
2nd-hit 166kpa=24.9psi-(A) = 10.4psi
3rd-hit 160kpa=24psi - (A) = 9.5psi
4th- hit 157kpa = 23.55 - (A)=9.05psi

Not bad eh.. a warm day around 5pm. Guessing it was 20-24 C outside and the car had been at operating temps for 10minutes already.

were do you have your wastegate hooked up to? looks like it might be on the turbo outlet, if you were to move that to the intake manifold, it would stay more constistant, and be regardless of pressure drop or CFM, but some people think it is a bad idea

Not bad at all Nate, i've been reading this sort of thing to get a "true" boost reading on my car and cars i've tuned for awhile now. Boost guages to me are never really all that accurate, especially on the gm s/c kit. I had to remove all my vacuum and take one direct off the s/c in order to get a decent boost reading on a temporary guage, if I didn't do that all i was seeing was around 6psi, after doing that I was seeing over 10psi. With the 2.5" pulley and ported s/c with alky my calculations are putting me around 12-12.5 psi on cooler nights and 11ish when its a bit hotter out.
