Yes, I looks like I can.
I don't have a stock file to try though.
hey Todd can you do that on my 95 mantapart chip?
also would a 086 head can handle 8000rpm??
let me know, thanx
I'm sure most have no reason to raise their rev limiters. I found that shifting at 6k rpm always yielded my best 1/4 mile times and traps even with the S/C.
I raised my rev limiter to 6900 only due to autoX. I occasionally hover near redline or bouce of the rev limiter and it would only hurt me to shift into 3rd gear. I'm curious to see those with cams meant to make power up higher in the rpm band actually make use of them.
12.770 @ 111.99 Intercooled Eaton M62
7000 rpm rev limiter
typically shift around 6800-6900rpm
hold 3rd gear thru the traps, i usually crash into the limiter at 95mph
i trap 92.5mph
with the patriot head and cams and no more balance shafts i'm lookin for 7500 rpm shift points and probably an 8k rpm redline
depends on where the power is
stock block
L61 tho, not LD9

It "can" take it. It's really close to it's limit tough. The Ho springs will start to float around 8k.
I want an higher rev limiter cause of the W41 grind 2 cams. I hate hitting peak power at the rev limiter. It may even be higher than my rev limiter that I have right now.

Right now got mine set for 7000. Getting a little bit of knock at about 6300 but that might be due to the fact that im running 89 octaine right now since i just got back from afghanistan for R&R and my wife is still driving the car. I need to do another scan after I've copied the HO fuel maps to the LO and wait till the tank is empty to run 93+.

i knew he ment 6900 i was just givin him some crap
Looking at how fast the car accellerates and my narrow band data, I'm making peak about 7200-7300... and it still pulls hard enough to notice a peak all the way to 8000. I've been shifting at 7900.
So yes, there are reasons to bump the limiter.
