HPT compatibility?
Wednesday, August 23, 2006 9:10 AM
Quick question. I was looking to ask then directly, but no such luck.
Lets say I purchase the HPT system for my 2.4L. Would the system be also compatible with other GM products (i.e. F-body/LS1)?
In other words, is it universal with other GM products? Or would I have to buy a separate HPT system or different program in order to work on the F-body?

Thanks

Universal all you have to do is buy the credits, I believe they are automaker specific... GM credits are good for GM cars, etc.

So long as the other applications you have in mind are supported, the above is absolutely true.

You buy credits, and use them to register vehicles so you can edit their ecu program with the software. J-body's are 2 credits each, or you can unlock an entire year of model (all '00 J-body's) for 6 credits. Some cars are 4 credits (LS2's), and so on. Credit's are $50US/each, and you get 8 when you buy the software included in the purchase price.

Ok let me confirm this...
It goes by credits, I can get 8 total, I can get credits for a J and F-body and spend $500 or $650 just as long I do not pass 8 credits, if i pass the 8 credits I am going to be spending more.
Am I getting this right?
Btw, thanks for the answers.
