Can you do a reflash like:
2000 2.4 auto PCM to a 2000 2.4 5spd PCM?

Get a 5 speed file, and then flash it to the ECU.

you can NOT reflash from a NA to a "GM s/c" tune though, the operating system is done. Once you have brought it in and had the O/S changed, you can edit and play with the GM s/c tune as usual.

The NA is an Alpha-N (or close to) and the GM s/c is map v/s rpm.. which is better for boosted applications

HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED

Thats incorrect, I've done this on over 5 NA PCM's now for my customers.

You can flash it to a 5 speed, but you cannot put ANY 2k+ flash onto a 99-, S/C or NA.

I don't want to make another thread. Does HPtuners use 2 credits for limitless licencing on a vin, or is it 4 credits?

Question in regards to this. 1 can you make a manual ECU a auto one? I assume yes. When doing this does it change how HPT reads the car? I mean I heard when you get the GM reflash it makes it a new ECU so you have to re-register the car? Is any of this true? Thanks

Yeah, you can. And it works the same way, its pretty much a new ECU to the HPT cable, so it makes you register it (in fact, it won't flash the new file without registering it first).

Ok so if you reflash a auto eCU to a manual or the other way around does it also become a new ECU to HPT?
