Tec3 hook up and the dreaded PASSLOCK
Tuesday, September 25, 2007 3:36 PM
Okay everyone,I've decided to go ahead and hook up the Tec3. I've got the trigger wheel and the wiring figured out. BUT how can I get around the "Passlock2" if I completely eliminate the factory ECU?

I've got all custom gauges in the dash but I had to keep the microprocessor from the factory dash hooked up so the VAT's would let me start the car.

I'll also be running an external fuel pump (doing away with the intank) so I can run new wiring from the Tec3 to turn the pump on and off (will that get me past the passlock shut off?).

Any insite into this is greatly appreciated...

Passlock shouldn't be a problem if you don't have the factory ECU. Passlock just tells the ECU to not let you start the car, no ecu, no problem.

Give Mackleer a call. I think he is still in your area and has a TEC III in his turbo Cav

I would love to see pics of what the tecIII looks like and how it completely overrides the ecu

got a picture of your crank trigger wheel setup? I wouldn't mind having a gander at it. I'm ordering a TEC 3 in about 2-3 weeks.

Don't have pic's yet but it's similar to this http://www.induction-dynamics.com/Installation_Instructions_LD9_Trigger_Kit.pdf. I'm using a 6" trigger wheel because that's what came with mine when I bought it from Jud.
