Bolts in '97 z24's side moldings?

I read in a post that GTs have bolts/screws in the side moldings. Would a '97 Cavi have anything holding the side moldings on besides double sided tape?

I hav 3 questions

1. What method should i use to take the moldings off? just pull it off? or is there a procedure?

2 If pulling off, isnt there a risk of the molding come off wit the paint?

3. If we decide 1 year later to glue the molding again, can we do dat?

thank you
bery much!

To answer you questions...
1) No, there is no specific procedure that I have heard of. Don't try to pry them off with a screw driver of anything, you will scratch the paint of that way.
2) The paint will not come off. If it does, then you would be a first that I have heard of.
3) If you like that kind of thing...then yes you should be able to replace it later if you wish. But trust me, it looks so much better without it. <br>

tis better to keep your mouth shut, and everyone think you a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt

to correctly answer your questions:

1. yes there is a way of doing it correctly. here's how: take a hairdryer and fishing line. heat the molding evenly (so you don't ruin the paint) until the glue gets nice and soft. use the fishing line to saw the molding off. use goo gone or 3m adhesive and wax remover to remove the rest of the glue. you can hurt your thumb or you can just get PLASTIC putty knives that will do the trick easier, they wont' scratch the paint. then wash and wax.

2. i have read that someone did pull their paint off when they did the cheap/wrong method of pulling...

3. simple answer is: yes. use 3m plastic and trim adhesive to glue it back on.
