I am not real familiar with it myself but I have heard it can be done. You would have to plastic weld it. but you would need to find out what kind of plastic it is so you weld it with the proper stick.

the one I am thinking about is just like a regular welder only uses a plastic stick instead. a friend of mine has one and has used it a couple times to fix a few things. its apparently a pretty cheap item to get. not sure about the caulking tube idea. I used some of that on my old truck when sealing up the walk thru. but it might work on this too.

Go to a body shop and tell them you need some body filler for urethane. Don't fiberglass it, because the two materials (fiberglass and urethane) shrink and exand at different rates from the temperature, and the fiberglass will pull away from the urethane.

142 will work, I wouldn't plastic weld it, It will warp and cause a lot more work due to all of the heat.

Yup, glass and urethane don't mix - first hand experience. As for the fleet farm repair, it is like bondo for urethane. It does work and stick.

Can you guys give me more info on Fusor 142? Where to get if for example. Can you bond two pieces of urethane together, or only fill cracks with it?

I have a cracked Extreme Tuner Front bumper. Cracks go back together seamlessly.

Its made of Lustran 1152 ABS plastic.

Will the Fusor 142 work for me? If not, any suggestions?

The stuff used on jareds bumper is the bondo two part urethane bumper repair material. V out the crack and rough up around it with course sandpaper or grinder to give it something to adhere to. mix the two parts evenly and apply. Then sand it level and do any minor filling with plastic filler. You can also plastic weld with a urethane rod if you have the kit or 3m, fusor, and usc should have stuff in larger tubes but you need a dispensing gun for them. The problem with them though is the tube of material is probably in the twenty to thirty dollar range and some of the guns for them are around $100. I know when I bought some panel adhesive in a tube they wanted 100 dollars for the gun. So I said screw that and modifyed a caulk gun. Doesn't work great, but for how often I'll use it its okay. The two part mix would be easier then plastic welding. I would only weld plastic that couldn't be repaired using a two part material like urethane can.

larger auto parts stores, expecially if they carry paint supplys, or an actual auto paint supply store should have the fusor stuff, or another brand. Go to fusor.com and it will show thier products and has some tech sheets on application I believe.

well if it`s is polyurathene here is what i would do
lightly take a angle grinder and grind the back side of the bumper
then you need to put in a groove in the crck in a shape of a V
get the polyurathene rod and weld the crack shut
here is a secret that i use to fix crack`s i use panel bond after i weld it shut
yes it does stick fusor products suck donkey balls
use 3m or duramix
now the out side take your D.A. with 80 grit and sand down the out side of it
use the plastic repair on it plastic is easy to work with when done properly
the plastic repair material needs time to dry so make sure you let it dry
use the right material on polyurathene i can`t remeber the number right now
you might have to coat it 2 time to get it striaght and take care of any pinholes
or send it to me and i can fix it for a small fee

can i haz bondo

well i wouldnt suggest welding it,after you gouge the plastic, use those sheets of materil,i forgot what there called, but you use them like you would with fiberglass, you lay it on the crack, and use the two mixtues, and spread evenly, do that on the inside of the bumper, and lay some on the outside, without the sheet, sand smooth, and make sure to use a flexible primer, and if you do, when you paint it, put it on dry, dont let it soak in, put a lite layer on, and dry it with a heat gun., thats if your useing a HVLP gun and all that. i just did this in the shop on a malibu.

well you obviously haven`t been fixing cars long enough to know that plastic welding is a great method in repairing plastic and ya must not know that when plastic is cracked to repair it properly you need to put in a v-groove to repair the crack
your method is fine too but i gave my advice on how i fix plastic

but hey wtf do i know i am only i-car -ase-ppg certified tech of 10 yrs so don`t listen to me

can i haz bondo
