Road Tar?

Hey guys, I just bought an LS rear bumper, and its got road tar and some other crap all over it... Im trying to clean it off to get it ready and preped for paint, what is good take that crap off or should i just whipe it down and then sand it? Please need help

Use some kerosine or deisel and rub it off.

wd-40 did it for me.....let it soak on for 10 minutes then wipe off

Baking soda has always worked for me. Just make a paste of baking soda and water pack it on the tar let dry then scrub right off.

this is a a good thread... ive been needing to get some tar off my bumpers and side skirts for a year now.

since were on the subject. What about road paint. I drove through some wet road paint and its all over my fenders and doors.

i used charcoal lighter fluid, less expensive than gas or diesel, less flammable too.

theres some tar and bug remover you can get at like a champion auto
