Dont think anyone was following my bumper progress but i know some people were interested in seeing the finished product(old post) We had our shop catch fire Thursday so i didnt get to work but 30min on the bumper and friday the shop was closed due to vandalism so i didnt get to work on it firday either.. and the show i was supposed to enter was canceled due to heavy rain and storms. It was postponed to Thursday(tomma) so i was working all day mon-today trying to get the bumper done and put on. Well i got er done and put on and i think it looks so badass. Bomex looks like it was made for 00. I dont plan to get the rear bumper cuz well... its fugly.. i think its fine how it is and this is just a temporary setup for a more modified look compared to stock. and yes once the exterior is done i will repaint the car.. the black base paint is free so i mise use it opposed to wasteing money on paint if im just gonna repaint the whole car.

Bumper info, i got this free from Jeff(Karnage) cuz it was messed up(pic below) so i figured i could try to fix and if i could o well no lose.


So after alot of glassing and some body filler, primer, and base coat this is what it turned out to be.. i remounted my old 96 fog lights back on and bought some real mesh(APC lmao) Also i got a free front neon tube i need to mount still which should look pretty sweet. Also to answer questions why the car looks like it does i had Steve and BlueCavCustoms make me some custom decals that said Under Construction on it. i got 4 but only used 1 for now.. dont wanna put all of them on cuz itll look cluttered and worse than already i think lol. So here is the final product.. the black brought out some minor imperfections but u dont really see them unless ur staring for them.


So whatcha guys think of the before and after?? i've seen alot worse fixed but this job when i started i had only fiberglassed once to fix a crack in a camaro taillight filler panel.. so it just shows if u have the materials anyone can fiberglass if u want to learn.

i posted this in exterior cuz it is more about the bumper and it being repaired so if u could not move it to Photos and Media i would appreciate it.. i got a whole new post for that from the show tomma..

Snd i doubt i'll be able to leave out of town for a while.. i got a list of things i need to get fixed or do but no funds to do it I'd love to see ur car in person again.. might see bout trying to get to bring the 40th anni prix to a summer meet... gotta replace AC pump, need new tires, install hood pins, fix pass corner, fix defroster, fix EGR Valve, fix gas guage, and replace strut bearings so i gotta get those things done before i can trust my car to go anywhere outta town..

that is a big list. Sounding like how things had been going with me. your car is definately starting to come together. I'm working on getting my car fixed up. I'm still undecided about what I'm going to do with the lights. either I'm going back to cav. or I will be trying a different set. But because of PA's inspection and DOT laws I need some sorta lights that can be seen from the side as well as the front. Or I would have to get bumper lights reinstalled agian. not what I want to do. I'm gonna be looking around and seeing what I can do. I'm hoping a different set of lights in the future if I can get the funding going. Same boat as you right now. your car is half way to primer might just well throw it in the booth and hit it all so it is done before you are out of school and out of an awesome paint booth to work with.

yeah Spence got alot to do..but im excited how far it has come. I think u should do what we talked about with doing 00 headlights.. you wouldnt need bumper signals becuz the bulb actually faces teh front so u can see it from front and side.. plus u shouldnt get in trouble cuz they didnt come any bumper signals stock.. plus u should do them special be the first person with 2k lights on kmax, and first person that we know of to have these headlights as 00. Do it!! i think u could pull it off. I wouldnt mind pulling it into the booth and primering the whole car.. i got alot of dents to fix and rust to patch.. but i just dont have the money for it.. if i coulda had the car looking like this around xmas i coulda priemred the whole car for free using my school's shop.. but im graduating next week so i would have to wait till next year and then i have to pay for materials.. so that kinda sucks for not having the money.. I'm not worried about how it looks.. shows whats been done and it makes it stand out and original.. around here they've caught the Jbody flu and there are about 6-7 done up around here as of last fall/winter so i gottta keep it as original as possible.. dont want friends telling me they thought they saw me but it was just another cavalier like mine

Eazy yeh i know.. bomex wouldnt be my first pic.. i actually have another bumper i modified.. its getting to be really popular on 00 now so that kinda sucks but i just shaved the bumper signals on it and shaved teh headlight area down while working on this bomex.. waitin to get the whole rest of the kit before i put it on.. plus i want to get more things fixed before then too..

I'm actually really happy with the exterior that i am done on it for a while..This summer im workin on the interior and suspension.. prolly wont be suspension for a while cuz i want Tein SS w/ EDFC.. so mainly ill be saving up for them over the summer.. I'm working on gettin a better job also, now that im almost outta school..

Yeah. I know what you mean by the jBug. I've seen more and more popping up in my area. I seen one that needs the front bumper repaired. I was like seen him driving by I was like come back here I can fix it. haha.. But I wasn't sayin' it loud enough for him to hear it only the my tattooist. Hes itchin' to do some airbrush work on my car.

I don't know if it's possible that can happen...I have had friends and family tell me that they thought they saw me, but it wasn't me, just another car exactly like mine (and that's in the old green cav [which everyone SWORE they saw several other cavs in this area with the EXACT same shade of paint....and mine was CUSTOM mixed w/kandy over it...but whatever] AND with this car....I'm like, there aren't ANY other primered cavaliers in this area!!!) Psycho people. I think maybe they know that it ticks me off, cause I always end up telling them over and over that it IMPOSSIBLE that it looked exactly or even slightly like mine, esp. in this area where there are only like probably 10-20 fixed up cavaliers within a 100 mile radius and they're silver or red or another ordinary color with ordinary kits, etc. The only possible resemblance could be the blitz front, which some sorta local cavs have (another reason I want to ditch it).
