whats wrong with Bondo?

it shrinks, hard to apply, hard to sand.

it's an inferior product to better quality fillers. think of it as comparing a rattle can paint job to a professional paint job. big difference

Thanks! I have used bondo once and it sucked. Not trying to fix anything major, just a few dents and dings to get it ready for paint.

just the diffrence in sading qualities is enough for me to stay away from bondo brand.

I tried to use bondo on an old truck and I hated every second of it. It bubbled really bad and was a bitch to sand.

Evercoat Rage Xtreme if you want something pin hole free. Or if you don't mind dealing with some pin holes, Evercoat Featherlite is a bit easier on the wallet (and still easily sanded and minimal shrinkage like the rage line).

To fix the pin holes then you apply a skim coat of glaze, correct?

Correct. I've been using the Featherlite for my own projects lately, and the pinholing isnt really too bad. I use an Evercoat Glaze as well. Pretty much everything I use is Evercoat, lol.

also how you stir it and mix it can change how many pinholes you get. less air in it the better.
