Has any one bought auto primer from napa or any other auto part store? if so what works well on fiberglass. I know I tons of stores sell it on line, but I need to get some quick, I dont have any auto paint stores in my area meaning the cosest one is 45miles away.

just go to advance or auto zone, i just picked up some duplicolor sandable primer, so i can prime my fiberglass bumper tommorrow when i put it on, you will still need to use actual auto primer from a spray gun tho when you go to have the car painted, if its in the interior it doesn't really matter.

I thought I read in a post that you should not us rattle can primer if you intend to use a air gun to paint with?

I work at a NAPA D.C. in canada. We really only sell Dupont. Prolly the worst place to buy anything.

Just works out good for me cuz i get stuff at 10% above cost and they can order anything from anywhere for me

I recommend epoxy primer or polyester primer if down to bare fiberglass. Then urethane primer over the epoxy if you need a bit of fill. If you use polyester primer that will have fill. Just stay away from lacquer primer unless you want to do a cheap job. I've only used a few sherwin williams products but what I've used I didn't care for. I prefer ppg, but everyone has there own preferences so find out what works for you.
