projectors, do them yourself....

well here we go. i didnt wait in line, and i didnt start till after christmas and this is what i got. now before anyone starts asking to buy them, or for me to make them a set, i need to get this question i have answered first. so i can finish these and then we can talk about making more.

i need some opinions here.... i like the headlight that has the projector tucked in alittle more at the bottom, but tell me what you think. now dont mind color, its just the different color shirts i used. they will both be sanded and painted flat black.

the dark one is the one i prefer, and there is also the tan one. here are the links

this one is untucked

this one is tucked

Nice work, I like the tan one cause it looks more completed. Is that FG & how will they hold up w/ the heat projectors give off? How's the light output? What projectors did you use? What years are you making this for and how much??

Sorry for all the questions!

well first off they are the H.I.D. compatible projectors from izn trbl. with the hids, and nothing around the projector, it lit up the entire front yard.(my front yard being about 1/2 an acre) yes it is fiberglass, and it will prevent the light from going everywere, like most people with hids and stock headlights. i ran the hids today with the fg in to test for the temp. and to my amazement the glass stayed at room temature, exept for one spot, that i plan on putting somthing behind anyways. these are for an 01, but izn can make them for about any year. i think i answered everything, and if you have more questions hit me up, or if i forgot somthing. just let me know. in the meantime keep the opinions. thus far from everyone i have talked to, i am leaning twards the bottom one (dark one)

yes, i understand i have a lot of sanding to do. i am trying to prevent using filler instead of sanding. unless somone has a techique that would help alot. along with getting this done, this is my first time using fiberglass... thats why they look so ruff

well i am getting ready to get some filler, i have been sanding my ass off, but i am afaid to sand to much farther insome low spots. so i guess i am gonna have to use some filler. then after that i will have a finished product, or till i can get some molds made

If you are afraid of sanding through on the low spots, add some f/g to the back of the piece, then sand.
