What is an acceptible idle RPM

Seems like when I come to a stop my car's idle is like 600rpm and is really idling rough. Is this about normal or should the idle rpms be higher than 600?

if it "seems like...it...is really idling rough" then it probably shouldn't be doing that... From what I've experienced, my 03 five speed idles about 900 RPMs... I also have an 03 automatic and best I remember, it idled a little lower (ex wife has the car now, which is a landfill on wheels...so.. God only knows anything about THAT car...) maybe this'll help..

My 2001 2.4Twin 5spd idles right at 1000rpm, cold is just a tad bit higher.

Supposely, automatic is 600rpm, manual trans is 900. which my 01 02 & 04 5 speeds idle at 900.

Finally took it took to the shop. The mechanic put his computer on and found a vacuum hose that was shot. Runs like new again.
