Michael Jackson: Innocent or Guilty?
Wednesday, February 02, 2005 8:38 AM on j-body.org
Like the topic states do you think he's innocent or guilty and Why? I think he's guilty this time. First time around I thought he was innocent and the kid and his parents just wanted money. The way he's acted lately is just kinda weird. When your a grown man there's only 2 kinds of kids that you should allow to sleep in your bed, your children or grandchildren, not the neighbors kids and not your kids friends unless their scared of a storm or a bad dream.
One other thing lets keep all religion out of this thread.

I would have to say innocent, but only because I haven't heard much evidence, not nearly enough to make him guilty...

I don't know if I would feel the same way if I heard all the evidence though...

How can any of you make a decision? You guys know him or the kids? You guys know both sides of the story or just what CNN tells you?

Speaking from what i'd assume to be a parent's perspective:

Would you let your children stay at a person's place--no matter how "famous" he/she is, if there's a lingering doubt about whether or not he/she would hurt your child (sexually or otherwise) without some trusted supervision?

Not defending Jackson and what he "allegedly" did, but come on...

Did you not read my post? I explicitly said that because I don't have enough information to find him guilty, I would have to find him innocent...

I don't know what went on there in detail.
But the basic acknowledged fact is that a man in his 40s has rmade a habit of sleeping with 12yr old boys. Both Michael and the prosecutors have admmitted this.
It is also known public record that when this has come up in the past, Michael has paid 10s of millions of dollars to ex-bedmates in exchange for their noncooperation with authorities.
It has been revealed that evidence against him includes doctors finding alcohol in at least one kids blood during a routine checkup, alledgedly from Michael. I dont know what proof there is of that. Also, police have confiscated pornographic materials with both Michael's and the kid's fingerprints on them.

At this point, I'm thinking he's guilty. Just the 1st part is enough for me to wonder why no one has done anything yet.
If a male, mid 40s member of your family was making an active effort to simply fall asleep with 12 yr olds, I doubt anyone in your own family would think its innocent and acceptable. If it was based in your neighborhood, I doubt your neighbors woould be happy about it and most would keep their children away.

I haven't seen one of his major hollywood supporters answer yes when asked the question Keeper has already brought up.

At this point I won't speculate.

He's going to trial on the charges for the reason that the evidence must be aired in open court in order for the jury to make a full and honest judgment on his guilt or innocence.

Keeper hit it on the head...

When I see him, I see an unhappy unlucky depressed celebrity who has been living in space for past 30 years and has NO connection to reality.

When I think of those kids, kids are kids, they can be manipulated, got into all kinds of inappropriate situations, and ultimately its up to their parents to help them get though the life.

When I think of their parents, I want to gather them in an empty basement deep deep in the woods and torture them for weeks... im not kidding. What monster you have to be to let your child get into something that could have even small potential of wrecking their lives, where they could be abused.

Guilty or not, MJ should be sent to mental institution and get some help, those kids should go back to playing with other kids and parents should be shot downtown LA.

Cheers,
Vladster

Well, I don't know about that..

I have to say that too few people have their wits about them. If MJ is mentally sick, then yes... help the guy. If he is a pedophile, and he can comprehend that what he did was wrong and just did it anyways, then lock him up.

If he is exonerated, leave the f*cking guy alone!

GAM, what good would jail do to a person like Micheal Jackson, seriously. What benefit to society or him would that have? He would not survive first morning, or kill himself the next... think about that.

True.. but then again, what celebrity on their first conviction (other than a murder conviction) would go to federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison?

My answer: None.

The problem is that punishments have to be tempered with the severity of the crime. I'm not saying that he's going to reform in prison, but if he did do it, it's something that even though punitive, will keep him from harming children. Plus if he's under that much of a threat, he'll be put in protective custody, which is basically solitary.

Guilty

Why? I dunno, just cause

i think some of you may be missing the point...

I, like GAM, am not speculating on his guiltiness (even though it's fun to poke fun at it, he is innocent until proven guilty). What I'm saying is you have to wonder about the parebnts that would let their children stay with someone that many people, maybe even yourself, think may be a pedophile...

I am saying if Jackson's guilty, the parents are part to blame for letting their kids stay there.

Having studied patern of behavior with peodphiles in college, his MO fits the classic peodophile to a T.

That is all I'll say about it because we have a constitution that says Innocent until proven guilty but that has changed with the media over the last 25 years. We condeme people in the media and convict them before they even have a chance.

Innocent until proven guilty in my mind...but at the same time...yeah...Jacko's seriously messed up. I mean...what adult has a ranch called "Neverland" with a bunch of animals and stuff. This kid was forced to grow up WAY too fast, and now he has a ranch called Neverland (Peter Pan...never growing up...see the connection?) and has sleepovers with 12 year olds, in order to reclaim his lost youth. That's my opinion, but yeah, the guy needs some serious counselling. Also...there's questions about his sexuality - let's just say...all his children from other women have been products of artificial insemination. Case closed.

Also...WHY these parents let their kids stay over at his house (especially with the situations in the past) beats me. And his people say that the reason they paid so much money to those kids...was that, even if they were just in it for money, it's a LOT cheaper to just pay them off (even if he was innocent) then go through with the legal battle, which can cause extreme damage to his reputation and career (which is shot in my mind anyways).

That's my 2 cents...

I find it kinda strange that many people seem to want to blame the parents for the actions of Michael Jackson.

Yet I don't find anyone blaming the parents for the actions of the catholic priests.
