Oh what a suprise... lol

Yeah this is quite a surprise, unless of course you've been paying attention to what's happening in the world. Then it's pretty much no surprise at all, just vindication of what we've been saying all along.

As if it wasn't already obvious

You should have already known

But now its official

Report: Iraq intelligence 'dead wrong'

Forgive me if I don't act suprised...

I've never heard of this "part throttle" before. Does it just bolt on?

CIA didn't have assets in Iraq...

Bush acted without knowing WTF he was doing...

Hell, it's business as usual.

Funny, no-one's trying to argue this one any more, and I don't blame them. There is simply nothing to stand on(well there never was, but there was at least an illusion of something to stand on). I was even gracious enough to give a Fox News link. Bush was wrong, he didn't even inquire as to the accuracy of the information. And why would he when he's being told everything he wanted to hear? Will Bush take responsibility (like a man) for his own mistakes(not saying he is the ONLY person who made seriously major mistakes here, but he IS one of them)? Hell no!! He and his fans will just pass on the blame to someone else as per usual. Again, I'm forgive me if I'm not suprised in the least by any of this.

Apparently admitting you're wrong isn't very presidential... It would mean you have morals, values and all that other campaign-time bullsiht.

No more Bush in office after this term, at least until Jeb jumps on the train... All I can hope is that he decides dubya played it out enough.

GAM - well we hope there's no more Bush in office, after this term, but we didn't have anything stopping more than two presidential terms until after FDR, and what can be done can also be undone, in this matter(although it would take a constitutional amendment, and Bush would be more than happy to tinker with the constitution anyways).

Yes, I suspect the only way you'd get him to quit from wanting to horn in on another term is a persistant vegitative state.

Hell, he's use the thing as an asswipe for the past 4 years, why not?

But then again, he's an american political figure, what else is new?

What is the problem with you people. Bush didnt collect the intelligence. You would have done the same damn thing. If you had a long term feud going with the person in the house two doors down with you, and they had already ran over your dog and knocked over your mailbox, directly threatened to kill you. Say you sent someone over there to see what was going on and what they were going to do next, and that person came back and said they saw hand grenades and heard that person contemplating to kill your wife and kids. WTF would you do?!? You would attack that MF-er. You wouldnt sit there and pick your a$$ waiting to see if he really would kill your wife and kids.

It isnt GWB's intelligence that screwed up. It was the CIA. For all probability it was a democrat trying to F-up his presidency. As we see with all the demies that couldnt face defeat they try everything they can to screw stuff up when it doesnt go their way. They act like a bunch of little immature kids. Get over the fact that Bush isnt trying to take over the world. He isnt plotting some major scheme. Obviouly people wont agree on the "moral issues" but good god I hear all these democrats talking about how our society is devided... Well no $!h+, when you act like a baby when your guy doesnt win a national election and keep acting like that then it will be devided. Your dividing the nation all by yourself. We had Clinton elected for two terms and the republicans sat and helped out and tried to follow along with what he was trying to do. Then you get a republican in and demies act like everything is going to end. Jesus... wonder why society is a joke.

FMR CIA director Tennet wasn't feeding bad intel, he had no intel to report because there were no assets in Iraq to begin with.

The only info they could use were in the forms of satellite photography (which pointed to no WMD's beyond what had been reported and sanctioned for defensive use (iran still wanted to stomp Iraq for that little war about 20 years ago)) and radio transmissions, which hinted at development, but nothing close to viable threat. After the invasion, there were no credible development plans, and all B/C WMD's were accounted for.

Bush authorised the invasion and de-stabilization of an area without proper information, and he further diminished his presidency's, personal and Colin Powell's credibility with the international community. The ol' Texan idea of "DO SOMETHING!" is paying off in spades...

^^^^ SO?

If thats what you are basing it off of then there is a problem there. Bush didnt go to war because he wanted to. You talk like he wanted to just kill people and risk our soldiers lives. BIg ol' senator Kerry even voted to go to war. Its not like Bush can just declare war. Really he can send troops if he choses but he need a vote from the senate. And in this case he went to the senate first, the CIA declared that they had significant evidance, The senate voted, now we are in war.

Bush had much less to do with going to war than the senate did. It was ultimatly thier choice.

No, the senate can only Declare War... Notice that there hasn't been a "WAR" since Korea? There's been different Nounns used, but its all the same thing... Police Action (Vietnam) was the topper.

Kerry voted to go to war without all the facts.. just like every other sheep.

CIA (Actually George Tennet) gave Powell, Rice, and Bush the same information(from British Intelligence Service and Russia's FSB), and then gave them the corrected information (from both of them) and the president still started in on the war path.

Don't take my word on it.

The thing is, this was a UN matter, not a US matter. Whether or not the UN is as effective as taking a placebo to cure AIDS is irrelevant--it was their sanction on them, and as such, THEIR duty to uphold it, not ours.

Consider what this war has done:

It's set a precedent that if another country is doing something you don't like, you can invade them whether you have reason or not--without the UN's approval or backing.

Consider that for a moment. Consider what the reprecussions could be. Consider if, say, Saudi Arabia decided to invade Israel. We have just set the precedent on that.

The last thing i want to have is my life inconvenienced because of some bull@!#$ cause marketed by political retards (which is unfair, lumping politicians in with the mentally retarded is insulting to the mentally retarded) to line their pockets with green.

with as much conflict this war has and news that their wernt wmd's and all the drama, do you think its really going to be a okay lets go get this country by someone else down the line, no, the next time it came up there would be allot of debate before someone jumped into this sort of thing again.

as for the un. i agree it was their job, but if we left it up to them they'd debate about it forever and maybe make a decision whn sadamms son got into power because sadaam died of old age.

Saddam was handled before the invasion and had been complying for about a year, UN inspectors were asked to leave by the US and Britain for their safety.

The UN has a problem because 7 Nations on the Security Council have Veto power... and the rest get to basically fall in line. Had there been a motion to depose Hussein because of Inspection non-compliance, it would have been veto'ed by France, Germany, Russia, and possibly China (they've classically been a wild-card).

Four of seven Nations with Veto power turning down a motion... Their investment in Iraq aside (tigres river aquaducts, pre-1991 oil refinaries and oil wells), they were also pointing that sanctions were in fact working, Saddam was complying, and it's not the business of the UN to depose compliant nations' heads of state... if so, The USA would have some 'splainin to do over the "unlawful combatants" in Camp x-ray, and well, there's already a lot to be explained about Abu Gharaib.

Actually, that's exactly what he did. He wanted go do this far before 9/11. He wanted this even before he got in office, and once he got his men to tell him everything he wanted to hear, he didn't argue or doubt anything, because it's everything he wanted to hear. Once the opportunity(9/11) came, he took it.

Who cares then, if they are as impotent as Bob Dole without viagra, surely this would show it and the need for change.

Either way, that's once bad precedent we've set.
