I say Oprah because

1. She's female, it's time for a change.
2. She's Black, they've de-segregated Golf clubs, why not the white house?
3. She doesn't have to fritter her reputation on bad politics.
4. She's already GOT money
5. Her politics have been mostly center or just left of center
6. The only skeleton in her closet is Stedman...
7. She has built-in recognisability (couldn't think of a better adjective)
8. How fast do you think she'd get Dr.Phil off the air and into the VP seat?
9. She's already TRUSTED by most women and half of the men out there.
10. She can speak candidly, and lucidly... unlike the current DOTUS.

I don't see oprah having the political sense and the cynicism required to turn the states around. While better than anyone on the ticket now, i still think Carlin has her beat out in capabilities--especially on his ideas for balaning the budget and low-cost housing for the homeless.

As for race, gender, and all that tat, who cares? if you do a good job you're in. I'm sick of hearing "we need a woman/black person/etc. as president." Let's start with getting a good one first, regardless of tat like that, and go from there.

P.S. I trust Oprah as much as i trust Martha Stweart.

Ya GAM, too bad ol' Harpo is a staunch republican who practically sucked dubyas dirty balls for an hour on her show during the campaign.

I've decided that it will always come down to a giant douche and a turd sandwich and that this political system is just dirty and awful. ALL of them are like a used car salesmen, sleezy scumbags who make empty promises and shallow commitments that will never be fulfilled. They'll tell the country a falling apart POS Ford Bronco is just like a Cadillac and most Americans [idiots] will believe them.

Besides dubya is proof that voting means nothing when you have tons of money and family on the "inside".

So, whats wrong in America? The far right and the far left. These psychopaths should get together in a small room and kill each other off.

COME TO YOUR OWN @!#$ CONCLUSIONS! You can worship the Christian Jesus and be pro-choice and anyone that tells you that you can't is a 1 lane thinking @!#$ who is the equivalent of dog @!#$. So you want to see your gay friends prosecuted in this thing you all call hell but @!#$ while they're here you might as well enjoy queer eye and get your decorating tips!" I don't think she's as republican as you'd think, I think she's more on the Rhino alignment or Green.

Voting for someone because they're black is just as racist as voting for someone because they're white..

^^^I agree 100%. Let the best person get the job regardless--don't have someone do the job just to appease minority advocate groups.

I'll probably vote for myself, since I will be old enough to run for president then.

The list I gave was in no means by order of importance... By that same token, people vote for the most photogenic as well as those that have good politics... which was mentioned, and I notice no one else picked up on.

hahaha. plus. she could invite all the quarrying leaders from
the middle east to her talk show... make them talk through
their issues on air... recommend a nice book about kittens
and puppies to take their edge off, and give them all a free
GM car....

... that or she could threaten all of America's enemies with
one-on-one interviews with Dr. Phil.

What does everyone think will come first Black President or Woman President?

I am all for having someone run who can really do the job; however, we will never get someone like that at least in my lifetime. To become president you have to play dirty. The person that will run this country for the people and not for his own political gain is nonexistant. You have to be a very power hungry and egocentric human being to even want to try and run for President.

Name the last President that worried about the people first?

I know I am going to get Left and Right saying Clinton or Bush but seriously lets be honest!

You know I would vote for you Keeper. At least you would keep religion out of the White House. I really admire your use of Philosophy in your posts. You are probablly the most level headed person on this site. The president is basically the king anyway so why not put a "Level Headed" King in office

Still curious as to who people think was a president that was out for the good of the country and not for his own personal gain?

The thing is--i would not want the job. In reality, i'd just want the freedom to go and do my own thing--not bothering anyone else, and no one else bothering me.

Fat change that would happen in this society--especially with how power hungry people are.

I'm voting for me.

I will eliminate all foreign aid to the middle east in one year if the isralis and palestinians can't get their stuff together.

Social Security? Bye Bye Bye. Anyone born after 2020 will have to go on forced savings when they turn 17 and start earning any kind of paycheck. What they save is what they will get when they turn 65. They can hold it in any multitude of ways.

Military? Well, I would ask South Korea if they NEED or WANT our troops there. Most likely I would close the base there and send the remaining troops to Japan or Guam.

Germany? bye. I'll go to other countries that want to be friendly to the US such as Poland.

I would probably pull most of the troops out of the Middle East but always keep carrier battle groups in the region.

Just few of the things I would do...

Oh, close the boarders for the most part or at least ENFORCE the laws of the nation. I might just take a 1/8th mile from the US board and plant land mines and then have a nice big fence. If you think you can make it across, you get to stay. If you don't then you'll be meeting your maker. Simple uh?
