But then again that has nothing to do with burning a flag.

I think the flag should only be burnt in protest with a legitmate gripe. Shall we say taxation without Representation. NOT for say in protest of a war that is going on to help people. At a time like that your supposed to be supporting our troops and help give them encouragement. Them seeing people burn the flag will only piss off about 99.9% of them.

They can burn the flag but IMO it is immoral. hypocritical, and disrespectful.

thing is though if you live in america, pay your taxes, you can be anti american as you want.... its within your rights... its still freedom of speech.

now if you live in india or some other country and are anti american, then the freedom/punishment would fall under their laws...

I can be anti-american all I like... There's no laws about being anti or pro anything until you start advocating physical reprisals.

EVENT: Nah... if you say that someone should be killed because they're: Black, Gay, Jews, Mid-eastern, Purple...

Then it's a hate crime.

If you burn the flag, and someone jumps you... it's TECHNICALLY a hate crime... but good luck getting it prosecuted as such.

Well, im gonna be pretty shallow here-

-The American flag is a symbol. It stands for a lot of positive things. People focus on symbols-constantly. If someone burns the flag, then they are giving the symbol of disprepect and hatred. Kinda like a gang sign. You flash your own in your 'hood, but if you flash yours in other gang territory, theres gonna be some heads rollin. Ive noticed this alot with a buddy of mine, his name is CJ, he lives out in San Fierro. He told me a lot of that kinda stuff.
