i watched a show about this guy and his camp....and i must say, i was impressed. he is making all the right moves as far as i am concerned. prisoners should NOT have anything beyond the basic human rights. that includes food, clothing, shelter.....the BASICS. i believe that prison is waaaay to gentle and comfy. they dont need TV, they dont need smokes, they dont need food beyond mush (as long as it has the nutrients needed to keep them alive and healthy), they dont need porno mags, and they dont need to work out all day. they should not be afforded anything beyond what keeps them alive and healthy. prisoners should NOT have it any better than the law abiding citizens of our country do.

prison is first and foremost a PUNISHMENT for the crimes that the person has committed. punishment should always come first in prison. that doesnt mean beating/abuse/torture or anything like that. but there is NOTHING wrong with a chain gang. there is NOTHING wrong with hard labor. and there is NOTHING wrong with keeping them in a tent and feeding them baloney or dying their clothes pink. none of that ^^^ is fun. but its not supposed to be. it is supposed to be unenjoyable and its supposed to humble you.

during or after the punishment there should be a place for reform. maybe after spending half of your sentence in one of these camps you can be transferred to a slightly more modern facility. still with no perks, but maybe somewhere you can sleep indoors and work on a prison farm instead of hard labor. somewhere that has a library and a course of study to help rehabilitate the prisoners. and after so long at this facility they can be evaluated to see if they are even trying to make any progress. no effort = back to the tent camp. repeat the cycle until there is progress. if there is no progress then its because the prisoner doesnt want to make any, not because the opportunity isnt there.

i am a strong believer in "there are no free rides..... you dont work, you dont eat." i think the same thing about welfare...but thats a whole new subject. i say kudos to this guy.....i really wish there were more people like him, willing to not be PC and to take a stand for what they believe.
