Teleportation takes you from point A to point B bypassing any sort of actual travel. Teleportation would be more of a instantaneous displacement.

Also, it was mentioned that maybe teleportation could be just making an exact copy of the original and then destroying it. What if the copy wasn't exact? The "new" person wouldn't know that he was different since his current body/mind is all he has ever known. I think the ethics debate on this would never end and I for one wouldn't ever volunteer for teleportation if this is how it worked.

A Wormhole wrote:In physics, a wormhole, also known as an Einstein-Rosen bridge (and less commonly as an Einstein-Rosen-Podolsky bridge or Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen bridge), is a hypothetical topological feature of spacetime that is essentially a "shortcut" through space and time. A wormhole has at least two mouths which are connected to a single throat. Matter can 'travel' from one mouth to the other by passing through the throat.

Jbody2nr wrote:Ok so its not teleportation but it is a shortcut.I'm confused. I don't think I ever said that a wormhole wasn't a shortcut. That's what I called it in an earlier post. Maybe I'm not understanding your statement, but what are you correcting me on?
The definition from the page you provided even says so.
