No, really, god bless those three. On the article I read Nicolas Cage and Celine Dion both donated 1,000,000.
It's really pathetic to see how few celebrities actually donate money or try to raise money. W/ the amount of millionaires in hollywood you would think more would be willing to give. If I had the amt. of money those people have, I honestly wouldn't think twice about helping people. I would help them in a heart beat. I wouldn't know what else to do w/ my money. Blow it on Gucci ice trays, I suppose? What about friggin professional basketball players? They're friggin loaded. Ugh... things like this always make me ill. But I do see where celebrities would need several yachts and 4 or 5 multi-million dollar houses in different locations.
Celebrities are over-paid; doctors and teachers are under-paid, if u ask me. The whole entertainment industry is pure @!#$. Actors make millions per movie... doctors go to school for 8+ years, work their asses off, and don't make that kinda money in 5 years and most importantly-- they save lives!!!!!! omg!!!! Teachers... oh hell... teachers put up w/ retarded ass kids everyday, the school board, and tons of other bull@!#$. Teachers aren't allowed to teach anymore-- they have to follow rules, guidelines, and things the gov thinks kids should know... they can't discipline either, so students are worse than ever. & they make what? 30k a year, if that? I admit that due to Kentucky's Education system, that I got to college and was completely lost in many areas... and it's not the teacher's fault. It's the fact that their not allowed to actually teach things that will help a person in the real world. They prepare us for KERA testing and that's it. PURE friggin bull@!#$. I'm going to write a letter........right now.
I'm sorry. I'm stressed. I needed to vent!
(& I'm sorry I got WAY off-topic)

Aug. 30, 2005 – Chicago Bulls guard Chris Duhon today announced he is launching an effort in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina in Slidell, La.
The player’s hometown suffered extensive damage due to the recent natural disaster and is currently seeking financial support, food and clothing donations to assist its victims. The Chris Duhon Hurricane Relief Fund has been established to aid in that effort.
“This tragic event has destroyed the homes and lives of many people – people I know,” Duhon said. “Many towns are experiencing this devastation and have yet to determine what, if any, buildings will be saved. We have to do something to help ease this burden.”
As soon as possible, Duhon will organize the delivery of all supplies to Slidell and monetary donations will be used to rebuild homes, schools and community buildings. NBA players Raymond Felton, Jay Williams and Vin Baker have already pledged their financial support.
