Yeah well the only way to get those laws passed are the people who are benefiting from the way they are now.

Do you really think when they take office, they have you in their best interest, they dont.

Right now Bush he has done nothing about gas prices, well he doesnt have any gas bills to pay, plus his Dad owns oils stocks and so does he, so why would he do something that will cost him money.

Again people that voted for him are morons, people that voted for him the second time need their head examined.

isnt it the states that are supposed to do something about gas prices???

kinda like how hawaii, made a statewide gas cap on prices? http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/2005-08-24-hawaii-gas_x.htm

dont always blame the president, when its the states that have to power to do stuff as well.

The problem lies with you and every other citizen of every other state in the union. Nobody wants to step up and do the job. It is easier just going to the polls every few years and picking from the same mundane group and then going back to your everyday life.

Our government was meant to be run by people who went to their respective post only with a desire to give back to the state and/or nation. It was never meant to be a lifetime career. They went, served and then returned. Now the path is to get your law degree, practice law for a few years and finish off your life in the government. If that is not self centered than I do not know what is.

Until we turn from our inward selves and start thinking of others, do not expect a change anytime soon. When more people know how many home runs a ball player has and yet has no idea what year our Constitution was ratified, you will continue to get what you currently have.
