I don't think Comedy Central cencored the Muslim reference because it was insensitive. It was probably fear over what some extreme-whacko would do after seeing it.

And as far as organized religion, we all know that Star Wars is the only true faith. Just ask George Lucas, in a few thousand years the Christian Bible will be replaced by the Star Wars boxed set. The crucifix will be replaced on necklaces by Yoda holding a light sabre. When someone pisses you off, you'll tell them to "Darth off", "Go to the darkside", or "Kiss my Obi".
