Girl strip searched at McDonald... aw geez...

See, this is why I don't mind the conservative moral right-wingers winning every single one of their causes. Because after one generation the really dumb people will be like the ones in the article and THAT will be very entertaining.

A hoax most cruel

Also, I don't think of ANY of these people as victims. If they're that gullible and stupid they deserve what happened. It would only have been a matter of time before someone else exploited them. These are the same people that answer Emails from Ethiopian Kings with millions of dollars to give away. These are the same people who fall for Telemarketers' BS every time. These are the same people that keep crappy TV, Music and Movies rolling in dough. These are the same people that will react with shock when smoking will be proven to cause cancer. These are the same people that think wrestling is 100% real. I have no pity to give them and my only wish is that their experiences would have been worse.

And don't bother talking about education. Left wingers and right wingers always babble on about "Education". We're the most well educated people on the planet and still this is prevalent. We have access to more information than anyone has ever had since the beginning of time. People don't want education. They don't want to be smart or know how to do anything. People are soft and fat and lazy and they love it that way.

This is what happens when people are taught black and white morality and obedience, but not how to put it into any kind of context. Right wingers make the same mistake as left wingers when they think that their ideas and ideals are self-evident and that anyone will come to the same conclusions as they do and use the same logic in implementing it. Not so. Stupid people only remember basic facts and details and apply these things in sweeping generalizations, leading to the scenes described in the article.

And yes, I realize that by assuming that all these people were raised by right wing religious conservatives I'm opening myself up to all kinds of attacks, but can you really imagine one of these liberally raised "F**k you! I do what I wanna do!" selfish welfare brat kids who've been arrested at least twice before turning 18 falling for the above BS? They're not any smarter, but they are cunning.

Say what you will about selfishness, but at least it protects you from ugly scenes like in that article. Selfish people don't join cults. Selfish people don't give heil Hitlers. Because selfish people don't like following orders and recognize a con when they see it. Yeah, it has it's downsides, but it also has it's positives.

This is the first I've heard about it.

I could sit here and say "If I was working at a McDonald's, and my manager or whoeverr said there was a cop on the phone and I was to be strip searched there in the office... " that I'd tell them to go ahead and fire me and let the cop come pick me up himself.

It is really easy to pass judgement not ever being in a situation such as that... and granted, somewhere along the line someone should have seen a red flag. It is easier to judge when you're not faced with the situation and don't know every detail. Hell... anyone looking outside of any situation could think of a million things they'd do differently if they could go back in time.

Should more have been done to warn of the situation? Yes. Should more red flags have been raised in the beginning? Yes.

However at the same time... the human mind is a mysterious thing. There's millions of things you could question as to why people do the things they do, and go along with things others may see as being stupid.

Even though we can sit here and judge all day as to whether or not these people involved should have acted differently, we were not in that situation in those circumstancs to know what would really happen if faced with that situation and having the same life experiences or lessons that these people may or may not have had.

I could sit here all day and reflect on what I could have done differently when I was raped at knifepoint just over 5 years ago. Now looking back, I could think of a million different things I could have done differently. But at that particular moment in my life, I hadn't ever experienced anything that horrific. Being placed in a fearful situation that I was, and never going through anything like that before, I had to do what I felt was best to survive. It could have very easily went another direction... I could have had my throat slit or been stabbed to death and left to die, but I thank God that didn't happen.

So while I can sit here all day and think of things I could have done differently, I don't... because it would get me no where. I could sit here all day and judge those people involved in the topic posted, or say they were stupid for doing that and complying with "orders" from a "police officer" over the phone. But, I won't... because I do understand what it is like to be in a fearful situation. We are taught to obey and comply with voices of authority... whether it be a parent, teacher, law enforcement, whatever... and there's truth to that. Look at all the kids who are abused and molested or whatnot by those very people they are taught to trust, obey and respect. Would either way be right or wrong? Who knows.

When it comes to many life experiences, it's almost like someone asking you if aliens exist. Not whether or not you BELIEVE they exist, but if they really exist. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. Have you ever seen one in person? Most would say they have not actually seen one. But if you've never seen one, how do you know if they exist or not? Can you say that for certain? Probably not. So in that sense, if you have never been in that situation with those person's life experiences, how do you know how you WOULD act? What if you were raised in a very sheltered environment and were raised to obey what you were told? Who knows?

Is it messed up? You bet. Would I judge those involved? Nope. Do I have my own opinion about the situation? Yes... but I wasn't there, so I can't judge.

If anyone is really that dumb to listen to a voice on the phone telling them to strip search employees, we should kill them for being so stupid.

I cant believe anyone is really that @!#$ stupid. I mean you answer the phone, someone says to start strip searching people, and you follow along. You are the biggest god damn rettard there is. No @!#$ they are working at McDonalds.

I would agree w/ fallen angel most of the time but in this cas i agree w/ what Rob S is saying. If your told to do that over the phone and you do it you are by far too stupid to work at a fast food resturant. If there was such a case then the police officer would have come in and arrested them, they wouldnt have called over the phone.

Quote:

"I can't trust anyone," she testified in a lawsuit she filed in August 2004 against McDonald's, alleging it failed to warn employees about the hoaxes. "I push people out of my life because I don't want them to know what happened."

So let me get this straight...Your Suing McDonald's, Because your , as well as managers are too stupid to know this isn't right?

I mean how can people be this stupid.

Oh I didn't say following the orders wasn't stupid... In my opinion it is. I mean I know personally if a police officer had reason to search someone they'd be taken downtown...

I'm just saying I can't judge them because I don't know all of the circumstances. From what was only said in that story,... yeah they were stupid. But I do know some people are incredibly sheltered and naieve about some things. That's all lol

This isn't a left-wing/right-wing thing. It's gullibility thing. There are idiots in every corner of the world, and they're allowed to vote.

It's not intelligence, if it was, no-one that had a functioning IQ of over 80 (ie above retardation level) would be taken in by a confidence scam like this. The other thing: most of the people that get taken in by this kind of hoax are trusting of authority figures, and are in small towns where there is direct consequence to pulling something like this.

Turning a cruel scam like this into a political plank... that's a little bit of a stretch. At best.

I think this is the dumbest thing in the world, and how people could fall for such a thing is beyond me. They are listening to a voice on the phone?! I can see questioning employee's, thats one thing. Yet, the story says how some girls were "forced to strip and dance around", "forced to strip and perform oral", "a janitor was forced to put his finger inside her vagina". COME ON NOW?! What f*ckin strip search has you strip IN FRONT OF SOMEONE WHO ISN'T A COP for one, secondly, WHAT STRIP SEARCH HAS YOU DANCE AROUND, SIT ON DESKS AND SWIVEL CHAIRS AND "SHAKE AROUND FOR ITEMS TO FALL"?! If these people were this stupid to fall for this ridiculous "hoax", then they deserve it.
