I should reread the crap I write before I post:

- When you start the car: turn the key to "On" for 5-6 seconds before you start up, this will pressurize the fuel system.
- Don't Idle the car for more than a minute outside Traffic. The money you'll spend on a new starter/solenoid will be saved in fuel not burned a few dozen times over.
- When you start your car, only let it idle for 1 minute at MOST, and idle for 30 seconds at LEAST. Letting it lubricate and getting the oil going is a good thing, and it'll warm up faster when you drive.

Your a smartass Joey LOL

I still don't see why we need crude oil. A lot of us on the org don't have anything in our cars that came from "real" oil except for fuel.

Why can't we just make gas from synthetic oil or convert everything over to 100% ethanol..... at least until electric cars are the norm.

Look at the cost difference between synthetic oil and conventional oil. Apply that to fuel. Also some of the "synthetic" oils actualy start with a conventional base.

Actually, IIRC all engine lubricants begin as crude oil base: the difference between synthetic and conventional is how it's hydro-cracked, and what detergents and other additives are mixed in.

As far as going 100% Ethanol, good luck. Most lawmakers are still under the impression that the only way you can make Ethanol is with corn.. which is way off from the truth.

Personally, I'd like to see a more efficient engine design start making its way into the market.

We can all think of ways to lower gas prices all we want... but.

I honestly believe that electric motors will replace internal combustion engines in cars. I saw this thing on TV where a group of people built an electric drag bike that ran low 7's in the 1/4 mile.... it could hot lap several times without being recharged.... and only had a 10 min charge time.

That shows that we are able to built practical electric cars that are still fun to drive NOW.... and we really should perfect the art and just start mass producing them. I cant remember the channel or the name of the show.... but some of the things they do with electric vehicles is amazing.

I'll try to find a link.
