Has the war forum turned into an Obama/Democrat bashing forum?
Sunday, April 05, 2009 8:06 AM on j-body.org
Ever since the presidential election of Obama, it seems like the war forum has turned into a forum mostly based on Obama/democrat/government bashing. I'm not sure if it's just the same posters over and over again, with limited other viewers replying.

Do these post have relevance? Or are some of the posters just sore losers that they have lost the legislative and executive branches?

Do many of the posts realize these losses, along with membership losses in the republican party, are due to the fact of bad leadership in the last few years?

Are some of these posters sore losers at the fact that based on presidential history, there is a good chance that Obama will be relected and that these people won't have a voice until the 2016 election?

Are some of these posters, and republicans on the talk shows, ever going to give this guy a chance? You had your 8 years, give him a little more respect than just 2.5 months?

Discuss.

Yes, most of these threads are just re-runs of the previous weeks'. Since GAM left, discussions have been a little more one-sided.

It has, clearly. You asked a simply question and the first reply was in defense of the forum's negative attitude.

Hey, the last budget of Bush's was 3.1 trillion. Obama's is 3.5 trillion. Bush inherited a surplus and wiped out a projected 10-year surplus of $5.6 trillion and replaced it with a record buildup in debt. Republicans did that, not Democrats. Did you cry nearly as loud the past 8 years or were you shamefully silent? We know what you did. Nothing.

No. I most definitely was not doing "nothing"

But still, if it took bush 8 years, and osoma 2 months......

Do the math.

The economy started falling apart in the late 90's before Bush took office.

Give him a chance to what? Pass more radical bills than he already has? He crammed through a huge government expansion bill in his first 45 days (which includes more possiblities of corruption and absolute power than anything), has moved more power to the Whitehouse (RAT board, Cencus Bureau, DCS), has filled his cabinet with lobbyists and long-time government elitists (which he campaigned against), has nominated tax cheat after tax cheat for his cabinet, signed a bill full of earmarks (which he swore he'd never do), and almost quadrupled the debt after saying we couldn't afford not to cut the deficit. He has backstabbed industries who he both helped to force into their positions, and who also supported him. He did this to AIG most recently by slipping in verbage to the ARRA bill to allow bonuses, then acted like it was a huge surpirse. He is trying to get more and more control over more industries, controlling how much people can make, and nationalizing the banking industry. He is raising our taxes while claiming he's cutting them, because no one pays attention to the changes in the tax codes. How much more does he have to do berfore you realize he blew his chance with a large portion of the population already? And don't think that he, along with the other elitist liberals in congress, doesn't realize the tide is turning against them. They are trying to get as much sh!t passed before they lose all support, and before people realize what has happened to them, and it can't be undone.

Once the Iraq war became un-trendy, this was a long-time bush bashing site.

Does anyone here believe that Socialism is a good form of government? If so, why.

I wouldn't really say it started actually falling back then.....but everything was put in place back then that lead to our current problems.

The funny thing is that Bush tried to stop it..... Bush isnt to blame for our economy going to crap..... but neither is Obamma.

The only thing bush really messed up was the way the war was handled.

And Obamma really hasnt had a chance to mess anything up significantly yet..... I'll judge him when I see what happens later.

Stocks started tanking bad in about 98. My parents stock market accounts never really recovered and have gotten worse since the election. Not saying its Billy boy, or Obamas fault but they have not helped it any. Most of the current problems were forecasted back in the mid 90's by a family friend that has worked for Merrill Lynch for quite a few years. He was off by about a year though.

Yup. Bush took over in a mild recession to begin with, then got 9/11, which killed the economy for a while. He tried stilmulus checks in 2001, which failed, and then in 2003 put in place the actual tax rate cuts, which got the economy going again. At that time, as Weeble pointed out, he also saw that the housing market needed to be reigned in, and the CRA needed to be adjusted. He proposed legislation to cut back the subprime mortgage business and raise standards, and it was shot down.

Obama is in part to blame. Before he was in any political office, he was involved in suits against banks that didn't write enough subprime mortgages per the CRA requirements. And as far as not messing anything up yet, I ask if you've been paying attention to what he's done so far. His bills passed, as well as his proposals, will only harm the economy. Removing deductions in multiple tax brackets without lowering any rates equals tax increases. He wants to raise capital gains tax (which he said he would lower--another lie that's still on his campaign site) in a recession. He wants to remove the FICA cap, which would hurt both middle class families, and employers. More nails in the economic coffin.

It's pathetic isn't?
People forget to quick, or they're ignorant, or will never admit the amount of $hit they have burden on this nation. But when the Republicans spend their Trillions, it is just fine and dandy as they sweep it under the rug.

And to prove further your point... .
Right now Obama was well received in Europe, the stock market has been receiving higher stock points the last 2 weeks, housing sales started to very slightly move up in some areas, yet how many threads have we seen on these good traits?

We have to many Rush Limbaugh's ass-buddies willing to see this country fall just to say... (Hick's voice) "See I told 'yer soo!"

I have never seen this much criticism, controversy and media coverage of an American President in my lifetime. Please tell me why...these Obama bashing posts started before he was even in office. The republicans had there chance so let him have his...we dont need to hear your outlandish bull@!#$ everytime he makes a decision. I'm surprised no one posted on the gift given to the queen.

as i recall, the war forum was pretty much an anti-bush forum for the past 4-5 years.....so the question of "why the sudden change" could also be directed at all of the obama supporters.

quik has done a very good job at pointing out all of the negatives of this young administration....but i dont hear the pro-obama side giving many reasons why they think hes doing such a good job. the best that is usually mustered is, "well, give him a chance!" but while the supporters and those on the fence are giving him that chance, he is seriously damaging our country. in a short 5 months since the election obama has gone from campaign promises of cutting the deficit to the most outlandish expansion that it has ever seen. in less than a year. i shudder to think what the next 3.5 will bring.
