I thought this would be a decent change from the usual topics in here. Take the quiz and post the results! Who knows, you might gain a little insight into yourself, as well as showing other members your point of view.

government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate

diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

Statist (Big Government)
Statists want government to have a great deal of power over the

economy and individual behavior. They frequently doubt whether

economic liberty and individual freedom are practical options in

today's world. Statists tend to distrust the free market, support

high taxes and centralized planning of the economy, oppose

diverse lifestyles, and question the importance of civil liberties.

LOL. While I agree with most of my rating (slightly more Libertarian than Conservative), the questions are skewed to achive a more Libertarian result. The site is promoting Libertarian views. The fact that a perfect score (100% in both categories) puts you in the Libertarian slot is the most obvious telling. A better survey would have more questions, and would not use a numbering system, just a scale of personal liberty or government protection/control.

What I got a chuckle out of is that you have to select all "maybe" to get centrist. In otherwords, you have to have no real convictions. I like it.

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.

they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

I just think the Constitution should be used, for what it has in it.


For instance.

I think its Amendment the tenth that ALLOWS for big heath care......

ON A STATE TO STATE LEVEL.

This is not a Federal Issue.

LIBERALS usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

As others have said, obviously the test is liberatarian-leaning, but this is still pretty close.

i figured the shorter, the more people would participate. long quizzes get boring and cumbersome.

as far as the libertarian slant, it might be. my government professor had us take the quiz, and she's quite liberal.
