"Don't tread on me" etc with music that tries to make it sound important - oh please. Its beyond ignorant to compare what our forefathers where facing and anything from today's events. The requirements of what qualifies as tyranny (apparently) sure have gotten pathetic over the years.

I'm sure glad you made ANOTHER teabagger thread instead of just posting this in any one of the many others. There are probably hundreds - maybe thousands - of such useless videos on Youtube, are you going to make a new thread for each? Yes - I know I used the wrong word, but its more humorous this way.
Although I do laugh at your nonsense, to show that I have no hard feelings toward you, I'll even embed the the lame video for you.

Oh, really? I contend that our forfathers would be absolutely disgusted with what this country is on it's way to becoming. I pose to you the thought that they would be marching on Washington with guns if they were merely citizens, and the US government was proposing such over reaching legislation in their time.

No president and congress in this country's history have passed or proposed so much to give themselves the kind of control over everything than this bunch of socialists.(And for anyone who is opposed to what's going on that is afraid to use the word socialist, get over it and start calling a duck a duck.) No administration has jammed itself full of Czars--unelected, unaccountable overseers of just about every industry--than this one. We have criminals, tax evaders, and radical union leaders, in the Whitehouse, writing legislation for the congress. Don't believe me? Check out The Apollo Alliance. Peruse the website and look at the leadership, their achievements, and their signature stories. These people wrote the majority of the ARRA, months before Obama was in office. They proposed it to him a month before he was innaugurated. Look into who these people are.

We have right now a group that is dead set on passing legislation they have wanted for years, regardless of the fact that the majority of the people do not want it. They are going after average citizens with their union thugs, government funded community organized astro-turfing, and their partners in the mainstream media. I have seen the bullsh!t first hand, and spoken to other people who have seen it first hand themselves: SEIU and ACORN thugs surrounding them and trying to drown them out at protests at town halls. The town hall meetings are being stacked with supporters. In Portsmouth, somehow people had marks on their tickets that got them pulled out of the line, and let into the side entrance, while people without the marks ended up being shut out at the door. Some of the people who were let in the side door were later exposed to be union members. IIRC, they had obtained their tickets through a different website than the regular people. The little girl everyone talks about was the daughter of the head of an Obama campaign headquarters location in MA.

What's pathetic is the fact that when people wake up and see what's going on, some other zombie who still believes the rhetoric is there to call them an extremist, a nut, or an anti-American fear monger.

Socialism encourages laziness and mediocrity, punishes productivity and achievement, and in the long run does more to maintain social striations than a free capitalist society.
Short Hand wrote:2. HOW is the modern America, or what it will be by the end of this Administration be anything like a socialist state ?

The government has continues to create more entitlements, is nationalizing private companies, and is trying to take over the health care system. Higher taxes and more programs equals socialism. There are no two ways about it. The more the government provides for the masses at the expense of the few, and takes the money of it's citizens in order to provide them with their necessities, the more the government controls the lives of it's people. This is absolutely opposite of what this country was founded on, and what made it great.

I'm sorry, but have you missed the Democrats, mostly Nancy Pelosi, calling the anti-Obamacare protesters un-American, which has been repeated by plenty of sheeple? It's a far cry from what was called anti-American regarding the war protesters, and the behaviour is very different. Also, recheck your figures on the war.

And with regard to our record deficits, I have never supported them, but let's not forget that the congress, which has been controlled by the Democrats for a few years now, are the ones that write the budgets. If they were so against Bush's desires for spending, they could have put together a smaller budget.

I've debunked this so many times in this forum it's getting old. Get this through your head, and stop believing the people who caused the problems that it was somehow the result of the deregulation. It was not an unfettered capitalist market that lead to the sub-prime mortgage crisis, it was the very regulations, under the guise of "anti-discrimination" rules, that caused the market to be opened up to the massive number of doomed loans, which is the root cause of the recession. Now add to that a spending bill passed just weeks into Obama's presidency, that was written mostly by a liberal activist group, that had to be passed before anyone could read it, and here we are in the downward spiral toward a real depression. Let's not forget that Obama campaigned on this being the worst economy since the Great Depression, but when his promises were proven failed (mostly he lied about them), and unemployment is still skyrocketing, he turns around and says "well, we didn't realize just how bad it was.". Big f&%king correction: the ARRA wasn't about fixing the economy, it was about getting all their long-time desires passed into law, and paying back his special interest groups.

Some imbeciles don't comprehend the the protection they get (locally/nationally), roads they travel, the schools that they learn from, books that they check out (for some), the protection or goods one gets after a natural disaster, etc. are aspects of socialism. But you listen to these nuts that shout against it and you can only wish that these fools spent their very own money to get what these fools take for granted.
I always say if you're that bent on this, move to a land in this world or galaxy and build your own infrastructure on your own dime, then bitch how much better (your) system is compared to what US Government provides to you.
Besides isn't the capitalist system's aspects that "you are on your own," "only the strong survive," "Lazzire Faire." Here is your chance to GTFO and practice what you preach.

At 8:20 this skit reminds me of some people here.

How ironic that most aspects/history/propaganda portrayed in the video could not be done if government didn't collect taxes.
And since we all love to spend spend Billion/Trillions of US tax payers on wars, and love to site our fore fathers as the "Great" of this country, yet these brave men never went to wars for the offense. Quite the contrary to what we did in the 20th century and today. As we pick and choose, that is ofcourse all proper and just fine. Gotta love double standards huh.

1. Get off your high horse. I can guarantee you that I'm not the only one that's had quite enough of your ignorant "I'm more enlightened than everyone" attitude.

2. I've said this before, but here is the crux of the matter: What makes socialism, and many others, worse, and more dangerous, is the fact that the major fault is it's design of the power the central government has over everyone. While there is the potential for corruption in any system, the capitalist system has a natural set of checks and balances to keep if from becoming absolute. Contrast that where the central government controls everything (and I think everyone here agrees there are plenty of corrupt politicians), and you have the table set for major oppression and abuse of power.

Mr.Goodwrench-G.T. wrote:Besides isn't the capitalist system's aspects that "you are on your own," "only the strong survive," "Lazzire Faire." Here is your chance to GTFO and practice what you preach.

Why don't you realize that this is a matter of not wanting this country socialized even more than it has been. The people who need to GTFO, are the ones who think this country needs to be moved away from it's roots more than it already has, not the people who want to halt the transformation.

Speaking for myself only, I can say that I not only want to get this movement stopped, but reversed. There is a damned good reason that we became the world's super power in a mere 200 years, while much older countries still don't have the standard of living for most of their people that we do. It's because we are different, and our system has worked better than any other to provide opportunity and wealth. The further we get from that, the less we will be that great country.

Don't tell me to GTFO because I want to stop the move to transform this country.

Your confusing regulation with DEREGULATION. You just proved me RIGHT with one of the worst written counter arguments I have ever seen typed in this forum. CAN you read what you just wrote.. You basically just said the market was deregulated / loosen up in order to make massive loans to people with no business having them, so that greedy bankers with loosen regulation could exploit this system. Regulation keeps the market from booming, but GOOD regulation keeps the market from crashing. Which is what this cowboy system has been for 80 + years.

Also note you do NOT dig yourself out of a recession like this in a matter of six months. something this big is going to take a minimum of at least 2 to 3 years before we can see decent growth in the economy again.

Who? And where is the study you are using to make such a claim? I'd love to see the statistics chosen for it.

I won't go into it in as much detail here, but I've posted in the other health care plan debate, what's wrong, and what could really fix the problems. It's not the insurance companies screwing people, and letting the government come in and offer insurance is not going to fix anything. The biggest cost in health care is malpractice insurance, because of how widespread the lawsuits have become. It is the legal system that needs reform, to reign in the massive awards for lawsuits, and the cost of healthcare will drasticly drop.

As for the rankings, I've already posted this as well, but I'll say it again: the WHO's report is flawed in it's premises, because of the data they chose to look at. They have chosen plenty of statistics that actually have nothing to do with the healthcare system, and they have chosen statistics that don't take into account other factors. Just removing elective surgery alone would bring down the per capita expenditure significantly. And overall health can be attributed more to our culture of fast food, video games, and television watching than to our health care system.

And are you seriously just believing the Democrats when they tell you that this is to lower costs? Even the CBO blew their estimates out of the water. The fact is that you can start offering coverage to millions of people and bring the costs down. The only way they are going to attempt at bringing the costs down is by limiting reimbursement amounts, which is just going to hurt the people in the profession. This will have the side effect of having less people come to this country to practice medicine, and less people in this country going into the field.

Short Hand wrote:I have not seen anyone repeat Nancy Pelosi's words.. IF anyone has, it has been very few. Get off your high horse your NOT being targeted by anyone, You are NOT being called anti American. Period. I actually find it offensive you could play such a stupid card and get away with it.

I have personally heard it. Just because no one has posted it here, doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

No, I'm not confusing the two terms. The regulations were in the requiring of lenders to write a certain percentage of sub-prime loans. They were fined if they did not meet these requirements, and a CRA rating was added to a list of credentials. If you did not write enough sub-prime mortgages, your CRA rating went down. The word "regulate" does not necessarily mean restrain. It is you who are confusing the terms. And nice exageration there. Just because you don't get something doesn't mean it was poorly written.
Short Hand wrote:Also note you do NOT dig yourself out of a recession like this in a matter of six months. something this big is going to take a minimum of at least 2 to 3 years before we can see decent growth in the economy again.

It will now, if not longer. However, had a proper stimulus package (without a lot of government spending!) been put into place, it could have been much quicker, and cheaper.

Yes, I'm serious. Obama has done far more, you just aren't hearing about it through the MSMs, and the Democrats outcries. It's in the stimulus bill, it's in the movements of offices by executive orders. It's in the health care bill. It's in the cap and trade bill. Read them. It's not just the video games, it's the entire culture of people who do lots of that, lots of movie/TV watching, and lots of sitting on their ass eating, and usually low quality, less-than-healthy foods. My point was that the WHO's report on the health care system is flawed in that, by using overall health of a people as one of their statistics, they are ignoring the differences in culture. And that was just one of the statistics that has nothing to do with the heathcare system. There are plenty. Let's not get off topic here.
