Let the games begin.

Friday marked the official beginning of J2K. Attendees were up entirely too early in the morning, considering the previous night's partying, to begin the trek to the Lordstown Assembly Plant. Following several minor mishaps, approximately 92 cars rolled into the plant parking lot, amidst media attention. General Motors greeted guests with short speeches from various persons from GM, Powertrain, Chevrolet, Pontiac and Performance Parts. An assortment of concept cars were present, including cars by RK Sport, GM Powertrain and others.

Following activities at the plant, many attendees headed for the Quaker City Raceway for quarter mile racing. Most everyone agreed that track conditions were awful, due to weather and altitude. GM brought out their supercharged Z24 which ran a best of 14.8 following some less then perfect runs.
