1986 Chevrolet Cavalier RS

About This Vehicle:

My parents bought this car in February of 1988, and used it as the second family car. It was equipped with the 2.0 Liter OHV four cylinder, and automatic trans. It wasn't a heavily optioned car, as the only extras were power windows, and A/C. It was driven faithfully without any major problems for years. When I was learning to drive I spent many hours behind the wheel of the Cavalier, and I even took my driver's test in it. The DMV road test evaluator asked if I would put the top down, and I happily obliged! Needless to say I got my license, and started fixing up the little ragtop. After a high school fender-bender my folks traded the car on a newer Oldsmobile, and it was never seen from again until the late 1990's. The body shop manager at the dealership fixed the car up for his wife, but she hated it. So it sat under boxes and tarps in his garage. As luck would have it the car went up for sale in February of 2001, and it came back into my life. It will never leave my garage again.
