in canada you need to have a copy of the ownership or be a licensed garage in order to get the key code, or to have a key stamped out

I work at a dealership and I've had to get a few keys cut for those service guys that lock keys in cars. I keep tryin' to remind myself to get a copy of Erin's key, but I never remember. Like they said before I don't have to show anything to get the key made, but all got to remember the dealership has all my info If I do anything bad. So they trust me after my background check and driving record.

dude think about what you said!! if you are needing a key made because you "locked" your keys in the car how would you drive anyway? most dealerships send a courtsey driver over to where you are with a key. and FINDING the VIN? its right there on the car!!

our keys were only $5 to be made btw.. im sure its different everywhere tho.. but even then for a criminal $50 is a CHEAP car.. i mean really...

when you have to get it cut from the dealer , or a locksmith has to cut it from a code they get by using your VIN, it is usually most expensive than just getting a key made from your original.

lol $50, naa cheap for the criminal is a 99 cent screw driver . makes a great key

no it was $5 to have the key made from calling the dealer giving them the VIN and them bringing it to you... as far as i know it still is in my area.

and yeah its quite a bit more than using a screwdriver but isnt a screwdriver a bit more suspicious?
