I don't think it did John, simply because the cav was cheaper.
Pretty much.

I'm sad to see it go, and i'm glad to have had one.

As for their move, yes...i agree MiniTA...

I would say something shorter (the ion is a lot "taller" than my SFGT), with a slighly wider wheelbase, and seats that can adjust up and down (so my hair is not lost out the sunroof ). 4-wheel disk brakes, double-wishbone suspension on BOTH axles, and something tuned to give the SRT-4, RSX-S, and the others a run for their money. Hell, why not come out with a t/c 2.0 eco if they've supercharged it? have the base model the 2.4 vvt eco and the high-end model a s/c or t/c 2.0 eco.

I mean, think about it for a second, the origical sunfire concept was a replacement for the fiero, Not the better looking (IMHO) counterpart to the Cavalier. They can take that and run with it.

Oh, and There was one pontiac that was faster than the 'vette of the same year...the 1989 Trans-am .
Wouldn't it be nice if these last months GM would be nice enough to let the Sunfire leave with a bang. Yes, slap on the GM S/C. Hmm maybe GXP or GTP moniker.

how will this news affect the price of sunfires now? my friend wants an 03 hes been looking at, but i told him to hold off until i could check on this.
will it make gm parts more expensive and eventually non existent?

basically, there's an 03 sunfire with 10K miles, and they want $9,995 for it. i think its a little overpriced, but 10K miles is pretty low for an 03 right? can the news of the sunfire being killed in june be used to lower the price of this car?

10,000 miles is very good for a 2003, but for only a few thousand more, you can probably get a new one.

i agree, pontiac does need a new affordable 2door car. but i want it to have all wheel disc brakes, front wheel drive, independent rear suspension, a wider stance, make it a little lower, slap in a 2.4 eco with the vvt, make it come with a windowsbased computer program to adjust every aspect of the car, definently have a manual transmission, put the spare tire under the car and flatten out the trunk, and an option to come without a stereo for people like me who cannot stand stock systems. i might drive a car with all of that even if it looks like two big butt cheeks driving down the road

Kinda sad to see the old SF go, but in reality it's time. My car has served me well, but it's starting to look really outdated with some of the cars coming out now a days.

As an aside, what Buick needs to bring back it's image as having some performance is to bring back the Grand National. You guys were talking about Vette killers within GM, that was the car... I would absolutely love to own one of those!

Couldn't agree more, I was fortunet enough to ride in one once. Going up a hill at like 40mph and he steps on it (Insert supercharger sound here) and those rear tires come alive..

Supercharger sound??...correct if wrong but weren't the GNs 3.8L Turbocharged V6's?

ha, yeah. turbocharged 3.8's they were. if i remember correctly, the 87 was the peak of the GN, i believe it had more power than the other years, and was one of only 1 or 2 years to have an intercooler. correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure.

flame^^^^ yer such a dumbass, you act like Ford ever built any cars any better off then any GM car. As far as the industry goes Ford is in far far worse shape then GM is.

remember the solstice is coming, IMO it is a good replacement for the sunfire, a little pricey , but a good replacement.

We all knew the end was coming, now that it's here, it still hurts pretty bad.
