Now with it being that much smaller, is there a need to worry about having ENOUGH coolant in the system?

that will hold plenty of coolant..more than you will need for your car to cool efficiently

I figure the smaller one will hold about 0.6 gallons. Shouldnt actually need any unless there is a leak in the system somewhere.

David it's an expansion tank, not a holding tank.

It basically lets the cooling system breathe, and give and take coolant as it needs it. This is why it overflows when it's overfull.

Vulcan - what rad cap are you using?

Mine (pictured a few pages back) utilizes a Montana cap and a neck with an overfill drain hole.

The Montana cap is metal and is rated at 15 psi.

It will be the push twist lock style. and does have a overfill drain hole on it for after 15psi.

Mini Reservoir for ya guys... mounts already on it and all that goodness. The 3/4" feed line is angled to help make it fit better around the motor mount as well.

Im gonna need to see some coated ones before I say yay.

I cant picture how the lower mounting tab on the mini is going to work. Need to drill a hole and run a bolt in the wheel well?

I like what I see. Though I maybe ordering the mini one, I think the larger one would look better with a 1pc top instead of 2

I agree with all of you... ill powdercoat them both in gun metal tomorrow so we can see how they look, and the larger one will use a single piece top from now on, i had it split up since i just barely had enough material to do it that way. I wasnt a huge fan of the weld seam there. Ill just bend them at that spot for now on. And order whenever ya guys are ready, like i said ill keep these prices around for a few weeks (4-6). And yea your basically right ProfessorJ... theres unfortunately not really any other way to do it unless u want a huge 20 foot long tab coming off of it to bolt to the stock location. Thats what i was talkin about in a previous post when i was saying it would need a bolt put in a hole drilled. i didnt think it would be a big problem since most people will be cutting a big ol' hole right in that corner anyways. And o yea you cant see it but there is the round mount on the bottom of that reservoir too that holds the rubber ring.

Just an idea as for the low coolant light. You could use a sensor for a 93 to 02 camaro or transam. You can buy the sensor at any autoparts store since there known to go bad and gum up. Not sure of the design or how it works but i'm pretty sure the plugin is the same. I could pull the one out of my t/a since the motor is out and see if it would be possible to make work.

i like the sensor design vulcan linked to...since you can actually install it from the outside of the tank with ease..only worry i have is the ad says its only rated up to 167* ...and my engine runs close to 200* when hot

Ill be ordering in a couple weeks as well.

Also, are those brackets made of aluminum as well? I plan on polishing my tank.

yup its 100% aluminum. The coolant reservoir itself shouldnt get that hot either.

yea...i guess your right, after all the coolant tank does run off the cold line from the radiator..so i guess it should be fine..THANKS
