Rear Disc Brakes, Not another thread!!!!!! Club Jeffie FEELER!!!!

Jeffie and I have been working on rear brake ideas for a long time, well, I tried every rotor in 5x100 to get it to work with Saturn S-Series rear calipers. Nothing worked, so my only option was to redrill saturn rear discs. It worked out amazing.

No custom lines needed for install, no brake cable switching. Just hook up the jbody ebrake cable to the saturn calipers. And as far the the brake lines. Well, just screw the line out of the drum brake wheel cylinder, and use the saturn brake hose that connects tot he caliper, screw the female end into the hose, its that easy.

The adapters are custom, as the saturn s-series have mounting locations cast into the rear knuckle for caliper mounting.

The rotors were super easy to drill, I just picked a drill bit the same size as the original lug holes, threw my drum on top of the rotor, lined the hubs center holes up, and went to town with the drill press. The rotors are hub centric, so no worries about it being too sloppy.

Ive only driven about 20 miles on these and as of now, not a single problem, car stops great, ebrake works flawlessly.
Photobucket is being super ghey right now, more pics to follow soon!!!

ON WITH THE PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once enough testing is done on these the adapter plates will go up for sale.

I may put the options as far as level of "complete kits" when these do go on sale.

Stay tuned for more and for those interested in the conversion post up.

As stated in my text Jefie, I love you. Mad homo.

Re-drilling saturn rotors was about the only option I could come up with in the past when we first talked about these. Looks like it worked out well I searched high and low for a 5x100 rotor that would fit the saturn setup and am glad you guys still carried on even after I ended up doing neon rears.

Huge props for this.

I'd definitely be interested, probably a complete kit so I can be done with it

$97 for drilled and slotted rear rotors, not to shabby.

So are you going to make the mounting plate 1/2" so I don't have to use my hub spacer anymore?

Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.

I am in on this if it is bolt and go...

Questoin #1: Would you be able to buy an after market rotor that is the spec's for the saturn rotor and then drill that to fit instead?
Questoin #2: Would adding 5 more "holes" compromise the structure or saftey by any means?
Re: Rear Disc Brakes, Not another thread!!!!!! Club Jeffie FEELER!!!!

Answer 1: You can certainly buy aftermarket rotors as Transporter7220 posted above.
Answer 2: When I drilled the rotors I did not see anything that looked like it could compromise the integrity of the structure or anything I would think to be unsafe. This setup will be abused heavily before anyone could even get close to getting the needed adapters to put this setup on.

I might be down for this. Waiting on the full test results so to speak. I'd like to know how the re-drilled rotors works with heat build up and such. "Cracking" issues and such. Plus I have brand new e-brake cables and that'd be a huge waste to go and replace them.

Nice work guys...

Question for Jeffie....would you be able to make a caliper mounting bracket to use Fiero rotors with SSBC rear calipers??

Hmm I may have to grab some re-man calipers and rotors and do mine, Jeffie if you have that bracket done up in cad that would be tits. If not and I can get the time you might get a cad file from me when/if I do it myself.

The fiero rotor hat will not fit over J wheel bearing flange, already tried that rotor.
