Club Jeffie rear trailing arm bushings round three feeler???
Wednesday, March 14, 2012 8:59 AM
I talked to Jeff about getting another set of these bushings and he said he will do another run if I can get a total of 10 people interested. Im sure he will chime in. Not completely sure on pricing, we will figure that out once we get enough people. I'm sure it wont be too far off from the last group but being a smaller run probably a little more. I guess we can just start by doing the regular list.

Coming out of the woodwork to post up.

I want a set.

Curious on pricing, and how these are holding up for past customers. May be willing to order 2 sets if it pushes the GB along, and may know of another guy in for a set.

Thanks for any replies!

*trailing arm

its basically the "rear axle". it has rubber bushings that dampen road vibration through the body on its pivot points.

think control arm bushings but for the rear, more or less.

Please remove me. Justin Ford (04chevycav). I got a set off of Metaball in the classifieds. He bought his during the second GP and never installed them. I get mine Monday! Can't wait to get em in. My last 2 stock bushings on the car.

I did it in about 4 hours
have to remove the whole rear end disconnect break lines
drilled 4 holes in the stock bushings.
burned em out using plumbers torch.
took saw zaw to old metal bushing housing (be careful not to cut into subframe)
grease the bushing and whole.
used a mallet and peice of wood to knock bushing in.
install back on car.

simple and worth it!!!!!!

gets even easyer if you can get your hands on a arbor press! dont need to take rear off

Got mine put on this weekend. It's super easy. I didn't unhook the brakes. I did all of mine under the car. You can move the rearend around enough to access everything, Just be careful not to crimp the brake lines. I unbolted the 2 rear brake line brackets to get the extra movement. I dropped the rearend, drilled a buncha holes in the old bushings until I was able to get the metal sleeve out of the middle. Then I took the saws-all to the outer metal housing just to notch it in 2 places ( careful not to get into the trailing arm) and a hammer and chizel got that out in no time. Cleaned up the trailing arm hole, greased it and the bushing well and they slid right in. Took maybe 20 mins each side. This did wonders for my car this weekend on the auto-cross course. On long sweepers I used to feel the rearend woblling around. Now it plants the outside rear tire hard and sticks well. I was afraid it might make the car push more or have a bit of snap oversteer when off throttle but I experienced neither. I'll let my results speak for the bushings.
