There is no easy way to tell, the fluid gets filled until it comes out of a weep hole, and thats when you know its full. There is no dipstick on the autos.

being a prick won't get you useful replies...it'll get you people like me replying with no useful info that thought they let you know you should be a little nicer to the people trying to help you.

there is (so i am told) a tool you can use to go through the weep hole and measure the fluid

Hey,
You check the tranny fluid by getting on a level surface, getting ur car up to operating temperature, run thru the gears, leave it running, put ur car in park, get under the car and there is a bolt that is in the general area of the oil bolt. It makes it easier to put on 4 jackstands. Its hard to describe the place so u'll just have to look and make sure u don't take the oil plug off. Take that bolt out and fill the fluid up till it starts coming out and put the plug back in. Put the tranny fluid in the hole where the red "cap" is. But ur tranny is a closed system so you shouldn't use any tranny fluid. If that doesn't make sense email me.

It isn't the drain plug - and no there isn't any easier way to check it. It's not that hard. The hardest part is finding the plug. If i get a chance this week, i will try to get some pics of the plug and where it is. I couldn't find it so i eventually had to take it to the dealer (ick), but it was customer appreciation day and so they checked and filled it for free

Not to sound like an ass, but why are you worrying about the ATF on a car this new anyway, have you been doing some hard driving with it or are you having problems. By the way, how many Km's. Your car should be under warranty, so take it to the dealer if you have any concerns about it.

well gm designed the autos that way cause its a sealed transmission. unless there is a leak, the tranny isnt meant to be taken apart

GM is really full of @!#$. For one there is no such thing as lifetime fluid, no matter that GM calls it lifetime, and BMW also has lifetime fluid on same models. Fluid will still break down overtime due to heat, thats the #1 cause of fluid breakdown.

Every 30k flush it out, same with the radiator and p/s and brake fluid.
