I didn't know Haas was named after the owner but I didn't actually think it was close enough to Hahn to confuse people. <br>
ANYWAYS, back to the turbo setup and what is required. This might be a good option for some of us who have saved up some cash for the eco s/c if we aren't satisfied with the numbers from GM. Heres to hoping it doesn't come to that though..........

Yeah im intrested on this kit but im not 100% sure of getting it. Im intrested on seeing how much they will discount if a small amount of us buy them as a group, maybe that discount will push me to buying this kit for sure. <br>

I too was contacting Haas, I'm from the UK and have a 2.2 Ecotec motor.
I may have a problem though, after sorting out what I wanted in my kit and how much it was going to cost, I was quoted a figure of 400bhp at the wheel. Time will tell about that one.
My problem is that the manifold on my motor faces the baulkhead. Will that effect fitting of this kit? Is it the same on the US motors?

Wow, you must getting alot of extras for that kit in order to get 400hp. Are you getting the pistons and rods? Well i wish you luck and i sure would love to see it! You can get 400hp easily from an ecotec as long as you replace your internals and apply enough fuel and boost.
Anyway, US manifolds are faced the same was as the UK manifolds. Its the same thing. You must have a Vauxhall. I cant think of any others there that would have the 2.2L ecotec. All the others i know have a 2.0L eco if a 4 cyl. The Vauxhalls are set up the same way as our Cavaliers. I would like to see some pics if you have them of the whole car and the engine bay. Post some?

Yeah, spending a fair amount, if I decide to go through with it. New pistons and rods, engine re-bore, huge injectors, stand-alone fuel management and a whole lot more (started off just the stage 2 kit I wanted but after months of contact I've got quite a setup penciled in) . I've got the full list somewhere, but as I say, I was quoted around 400 bhp at the wheel.

Apparently we can run more boost here in Scotland too, as we have no emission regulations here. The only problems with the kit and my car is that the piping isn't 100% compatible with the engine bay lay-out.
Sweet! those cars are awesome looking and lightweight looking. I have to say that the front looks similiar to a Civic though.
I found a picture that had the hood open on one just like your picture and is the same setup as the Cavy. I see no reason why the piping wouldnt be the same. It looks like all of the same layout and length as far aas the piping would go. The engine bay is identical.
Anyway, sweet car!
I would start out with just the turbo kit first and then build it as you go. It wouldnt take long for 400hp. Keep us posted on the build!

strrength for 400hp? I myself havent gotten that far but as from the GM catalog and websites and some info you can find here, the only thing i can find that would definatly have to be replaced is the rods and pistons. The rods wont last beyond 275 flywheel hp. A sleeve kit is helpful but not required. Of course, you would a need larger fuel setup and then a turbo that will produce that much boost. A turbo that has around 400 cfm should be adequate enough. You can use the 9.0:1 forged pistons. (8.5:1 is actually too low for this application unless you were going for really high boost). High strength rods are great, nothing major about them. I wouldnt change the stroke until you knew the style pistons you were using or of how to determine what stroke you needed. IF you are opening the bore on the block, that is a huge upgrade.
Air control: The more air you can have going into the chamber the more power you will make, so a good head job could really help in adequate flow. If you did all of this i would think that you could get closer to 500+hp with the right turbo and setup. Talk to the turbo kit companies. These guys know better numbers and most know exactly what you need. I would pretty much trust them (if they specialize in the motor that you are building like HAAS for one). There are others also.
Rods and pistons are included in my kit, not sure of the compression ratios and It'll run around 22 Psi.
The total cost of my personalised kit is around $5300
